can somebody please tell me, when somebody say's their child is nonverbal does that mean the child does'nt say anything.

Yes,basically.
They would usually be making sounds that mean something though.
Are we talking about your child??

ds1 is non verbal, although is rarely quiet. But his word for broken is "ahee" so nonsense to anyone who isn't with him all the time. He can communicate though.

Thanks moondog and jimjams2, just wanted to know in general, my ds atm is being assessed for autism. He's gonna be 3 this month did'nt have much speach, but he now has started to say words.

He even has started to call me mum, and his dad daddy, he did'nt do that before. Even has started to point, he never pointed at anything before, but he still has a long way to go.

I think the common usage for someone who can't "speak" is non-verbal which doesn't mean they don't make or use sounds. Technically I think it should be non-vocal if someone doesn't make sounds or communicate at all..... but I may have it the wrong way round, doh!
