DS made a cup of tea

This may sound trivial and like im getting all excited over a little thing but i thought you mums on SN would understand.

DS who is nearly 10 with AS, hasnt been in school since last Nov 05, usually doesnt want to interact with me or DH, stays in our room watching TV etc etc.

Today asked me "can i make you a cup of tea mum?"

Well i nearly fell off my chair.

So i talked him through it and stood with him and he did it all right, used the teapot etc, was very careful and im thinking oh its gonna be horrible but ill drink it because its DS first cup of tea but no, it was really nice

And then my mum popped in and he made her one and she drank hers and told him it was lovely, he had a beaming smile from ear to ear.

He is still smiling and in a good mood, i felt a bit teary cos its a long time since ive seen him like that, and DH has told him that he can make DH a cup of tea when he comes back from the GYM and he,s really chuffed about that.

So i just feel really happy today and its put a smile on my face, silly arent i!!!!!

That made me smile too Jenk, it's lovely and not trivial at all.

My ds has taken the responsibility of feeding our new cat in the mornings very seriously. He is 8 with AS/ADHD and this is a real surprise, so grown up!

I can imagine you are going to be tea logged before the week is over. Well done to your ds.
