can a school refer your child for SpLD and place on SEN register without telling you?

School should always consult you before giving SpLD label. Outside agencies should not even discuss your child without your permission.

ive been told that ds was put on sen register when he was referred to Spld. a lady would come in from another svhool and work with his and other children in a group. this has only come to light as ds has dx hfa and im asking lots of questions. i have requested an IeP be drawn up.

i just think it is wrong that they referred my ds and didnt tell me. i had no idea he was on sen register until i approached them about hfa dx.

as ivr said in another post school have refuted ds dx and said he does not have autism to paed. paed says that she is concerned school dont see anything wrong and that oerhaps ds is just shy and un confident. so annoyed with schol senco.
