I'm ready to introduce myself and fully accept that my 2 wonderful ds's are both autistic. They are fab wee boys but wow is it hard work. I've been on the SN boards a few times, dipping in and out, but I feel ready to introduce myself. I'm slowly starting to accept it all.
Ds1 was dx 4 years ago, ds2 2 months ago. I knew there was a chance a second child would be asd. Ds1 was 5.5 yrs before we decided we were ready to have another, he was hard work bless him. I thought I was the crappiest mother out there and couldn't understand why anyone would have more children. When we started the on the road to dx it all started to make sense.
So then ds2 came along when ds1 was almost 7 and he was different. I thought so this is what 'normal' is, but no, wrong again.
I can't believe how different they both are, it's amazing!
There's loads I'd love to talk about but will leave it there for now. I have been in mn for nearly 5 years now, but not properly on these boards.
