We leave on the train this evening

and Bee's surgeries are tomorrow morning.

She does not do well with anaesthesia, so 3 procedures are being fit into the one anaesthetic, but that means that she will be "out" for several hours. They are doing vascular and intestinal surgery, so it is not "tiny" stuff, but we are hoping to be back home and recovering by week end.

It is tough having the family separated for these things - Bee and I are in one city on our own, DH and DS stay home. Travel and lodging, of course, are not free... so there are a few different stresses that are on my shoulders.

What's worse, this time around, is that I just can't shake a nagging feeling that something is going to go wrong. This isn't the most involved set of procedures she has ever had, and it will be anaesthetic #37 (or so), but this feeling is really eating at me. I SO hope I am wrong.

I should be packing - I have NOTHING ready and the train leaves in 8 hours. Maybe I'll go out and do some errands first, then come home and get the rest done.

Please send sanity, positive thoughts, Brew and TONS of Wine I think I'll need them.

Beemum I really hope it all goes well for your dd. Remember to pack a book and the charger for your phone/ipad so you have something to distract yourself with while the op is happening.

How long will she have to stay in hospital after the op?
