Because of the scarring from the first?

*Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Uterine synechiae have generally been considered benign findings in pregnancy. We used a large perinatal database to test the hypothesis that uterine synechiae are associated with pregnancy complications.METHODS: We performed a retrospective cohort study of women with singleton pregnancies presenting for routine ultrasonographic examinations at 17-22 weeks from 1990-2009. Pregnancies with multiple fetuses, amniotic bands, and congenital uterine anomalies were excluded. We compared pregnancy outcomes between women with and without uterine synechiae. Multivariable logistic regression was used to adjust for confounders.RESULTS: Of 65,518 pregnancies meeting inclusion criteria, 296 (0.45%) were diagnosed with uterine synechiae. Women with uterine synechiae were significantly more likely to have placental abruption (2.1% compared with 0.6%, adjusted odds ratio [OR] 3.25, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.43-7.36), preterm premature rupture of membranes (PROM) (5.5% compared with 2.3%, adjusted OR 2.51, 95% CI 1.51-4.18), and cesarean delivery for malpresentation (5.1% compared with 3.0%, adjusted OR 1.75, 95% CI 1.04-2.95). The risks of placenta previa, fetal growth restriction, stillbirth, and preterm delivery were not significantly different.CONCLUSION: Uterine synechiae are associated with significant increase in the risk of preterm PROM, placental abruption, and cesarean delivery for malpresentation. The notion of uterine synechiae as benign findings in pregnancy should be re-evaluated*

Do you think I should stop consulting dr Google or do you think it's a good thing to be aware of this?? X

While granny is being the oracle of delphi and the font of all knowledge (yes 2old you!) someone I'm in touch with online asks this: Our 3 y/o daughter has been coughing consistently now for months. We have spoken to several doctors, pulmonologist, neurologist and gastronolgists, and they seem to think everything is fine. I have to tell you my ‘mommy’ gut feeling isn’t so sure. She is gagging and throwing up every morning. When she throws up she releases gas or has a bowel movement at the same time. She is on a GJ tube and she is fed through the J tube. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this common? Any ideas?

Will come back later to read all other posts!

Isitme1 Tue 15-Jan-13 19:56:12

I could be talking nonsense but you asked for any ideas so
-uncontrolled ashtma? At that age its hard to diagnose
- her way of realising stomach gases?? Does she get vented at all??

Sorry if I offended anyone this was not my intention, I admit I know nothng
just have a little knowledge and experience. However I am appalled the way people are treated by the NHS and pushed around by heartless staff.
My last post seemed to have vanished down the big black hole
Just trying to be helpful to the mum you mentioned I agree with itisme that medics are so reluctant to dx asthma at an early stage. I find aspirating the gstro tube X2 a day helps but no feed comes back. If she was my DD I would be very worried

Isitme1 Read your mail with interest I only saw one uterine inversion in my training and this was postdelivery. Will read your link tomorrow All 5 DC's stranded in city due to snow 2LO's arrived at 21 15 and still waiting for others

Sneezecakesmum I am so sorry you think I am cocky Believe you me I am a big wuss
Take care everybody

Isitme1 Wed 16-Jan-13 08:00:46

I think any where you go there's good and bad staff but with such poor conditions and being soo busy the nhs staff seem to be the worst.
Ive met some lovely nhs staff that have gone out of their way to help and ive met some awful people who honestly made me cry .

Thanks granny I thought someone was going to tell me to shut up lol.

Mums waters broke this morning. Been trying to reach her she was in a lot of pain. She had the sweep yesterday. Hope shes ok x

starfishmummy Wed 16-Jan-13 08:54:26

Hello!! I've been kluking and thought I needed to pop in!!

2old - what time did the kids get home yesterday? I saw your post on the snow thread. Every summer in Mundesley, I dream of moving there but have now gone off that idea - at least while ds is still at school!!

sneezecakesmum Netherlands Wed 16-Jan-13 18:39:50

2old. I don't think you're cocky, just a lot cleverer than me especially wrt all your broods conditions, makes you the expert as far as I'm concerned. smile. Hope youre not offended? anyway Hope they all arrived home safely. I hate snow and ice for travelling and safety of LOs.

Isitme hope your mum is doing ok. Must feel a bit nerve wracking with all the focus on childbirth.

DGS is slowly putting weight back on with BD and the volumes gradually increasing. We are going to start toilet training soon...fun!

Isitme1 Wed 16-Jan-13 20:38:58

Its horrible sneeze.
I feel like crying. Ive kept back the tears.
Its like im living a nightmare and I need to protect mum so it doesn't happen to mum.
Ive been backwards and forwards to hers and mine. Im sat with her atm.

Isitme1 Thu 17-Jan-13 08:26:19

Thanks.
Last night wasn't too bad because I was enjoying a mcflurry in bed
But then all again this morning.

How is everyone x

gallivantsaregood Thu 17-Jan-13 10:22:05

HI folks. Sorry for my recent absence.... Busy busy here.

Isitme: huge hugs for you. Stick to your guns re birth plan and c-section. I had emergency c-section but had thankfully already had an epidural..... How is your mum?

Sneeze: re the lady asking for advice. My DD has always had issues with gagging/ retching. He dies not have a funding. However his insides are higgeldy-piggeldy with annotated gut, liver in lower abdomen and his stomach is sitting at a funny angle and is small. If he has wind, needs to poo, his bladder is full, his stomach is completely empy or if his clothes put ANY pressure on his tum at all he will gag or even vomit. As a baby we couldn't put his nappy on properly cos that would make him vomit. He has pretty bad reflux but thankfully doesn't aspirate.

Has the little girl ever had an MRI? Am thinking maybe some organs in odd place? Or really bad reflux? Maybe really sensitive to pressure from clothes/nappy around her middle?

Not sure how helpful that is but just a wee though

Giddy: Hello :-D

Haven't caught up with all that's going on but will try to over next day or so. Hope everyone us ok,,xxxxxx

Isitme1 Thu 17-Jan-13 18:33:19

Thank you all.
Baby is spit of ds smile
And watching mum in labour has helped me a little x

Giddypants Fri 18-Jan-13 18:37:58

Ha ha they're old <ahem> enough to look after themselves, it will be my dads own fault he has the gallops, and mum doesn't think she has a cold anymore, she's probably been snoring like a train and made her throat dry.
<evil> grin

I have a whole day of entertaining DS tomorrow while the floor in the hall is being installed. What to do?

I had DSs annual statement review this morning, all quite good, but they want him to go more than 2 mornings a week, I've agreed to 3 staring next week, but they want 5 before they break up for the summer in preparation for him starting school in September, my baby is growing up sad TBH I have more issues with it than he does.

sneezecakesmum Netherlands Fri 18-Jan-13 20:16:41

Hi all. internet behaving at the moment and waiting for new router as !maybe!!! putting the old on plus wires on the radiator had something to do with it?? <dumb moment>

Contratulations isitmes mum. thanks so please all went well for her. def not something i remember fondly!

thanks galli I will copy and paste to internet friend re the JJ tube (?) Hope all going well re the (hope) new little one.

2old. You are really knowledgeable, smile Lots of snow where you live according to pics from my Dsis! Youre welcome to it, its not too bad here yet but think it will be after the weekend!

My cold is not materialising and old fart is going to die if he leaves the loo in the mess he did yesterday. Think its food poisoning as he hasnt a clue about food hygiene. RAW MEAT ON A FLAMING PLATE IN FRIDGE PLEASE!!! etc etc. NOT a bug as I have been unaffected grin

gallivantsaregood Fri 18-Jan-13 20:24:38

Ah.......... Now I get it! Giddy is Sneeze's DD!!! . Bit dim I'm afraid!

sneezecakesmum Netherlands Fri 18-Jan-13 21:01:08

no not at all! Giddy used to be sneezecake, and by unanimous MN decision I had to change to sneezecakesmum from something or other (forgot what!)

not bothering to reply to her as we speak most days and I help out at her house eating her food and enjoying her central heating grin

2old2beamum Russia Fri 18-Jan-13 22:13:44
