Are any of you familiar with the Course run by Terry Gilligan? I found out today that there are 2 coming up after easter, ones 'Autism, Aspergers and Semantic Pragmatic Disorder' and the other is 'Speech and language disorders' I think they are primarily for education staff, but are suitable for parents as well, and are 18 pounds per person, per course.... Which isn't too bad,and for once they are in an evening so I can actually go....

What I wondered was has anyone heard of him, do you know what these courses are like... would it be worth my whilst going on one, or both... I know I've been managing OK with elijah and I think I'm doing an OK job at supporting the work our SALT does and using the Hanen book as a reference when needs be, but if theres a short course that could give me a few more pointers the it can't help can it?

Of ocurse if the mans just a money making quack who's goign to teach everyone how to suck eggs I'll think twice, so any inputs welcome!

I'd ring and ask the SALT but she's off sick wit the dreaded virus thats doing the rounds, the playleader/senco at pre school thinks the course is too exspensive, so I won't be bankin on any of teh key workers for the ASD or suspected ASD children will be going [I'm chair of the committee and beleive me, they can't afford it unless teh staff pay themselves...]
Anyway enough digressing.

thanks in Advance.

Emma.
