Spoke to Camhs yesterday and basically broke down on the phone as so worried about dd and her biting herself and now dh too.
Receptionist said we had a 13 week wait and I said there was no way we could wait that long and ended up in floods of tears . After getting home from the London meet I had a message and basically they have brought it forward to 3 weeks time. Receptionist said she really felt for me and asked one of the therapists if they had a spare slot as she could tell how desperate I was. Thankfully there was and the lady I am seeing was on the programme "living with adhd" and worked with the family on that. So pleased as she really is very good.
Fingers crossed we manage to get somewhere.
Just so relieved as 13 weeks just seeemed far too long.

Oh yes

I just hate dd being observed and guess I crave some kind of normality which for now just isn't going to happen! Also think they will suggest medication for dd which is hard for me to take but something I know I should at least trial.

i think thats whats coming tomorrow for us as well, it has made me sad to think of medicating DS but i have to think about the affect he is having on the rest of the family and its not a good one.

Jenk - I know how you feel

Sometimes though medication can turn everyones lives around. We were first offered Ritalin 2 and a half years ago and turned it down. Now kind of feel cruel not giving dd the chance. So will see. Please let me know how it goes tomorrow.
