How do I keep the nappy on her!!!

DD is 4.9 and is completely incontinent, hopefully she will be having operations within the next two years to get her clean and dry but in the meantime she's in nappies.
But suddenly she doesn't want to be, which is understandable I suppose but she just keeps taking them off! She has no sensation either in her bowel or bladder and doesn't realise when she's weeing, and this discarding of nappies is making for a lot of cleaning up for me
She's old enough for me to explain things to, which I have repeatedly to no avail - she just ignores everything I say.
I can't think of any ways to get her too keep the nappy on short of watching her 24/7, and my carpets won't survive much longer at this rate!
Has anyone got any suggestions?

pullup? Do you get free nappies from the county? If so, just phone and ask for pull ups instead, she might feel like a big girl in nappy knickers

sorry, have no experience of SN kids, or incontinence... but could you try reusable pull-ups?

they may be more like big girls pants...

something like these for example (i LOVE the minki ones)

My friend has a SN dd who was incontinent until she was 5. To start with she put the nappy on back to front, which worked for a short while until her dd worked out how to get them off, and she used gaffer tape to keep them on. That was pretty effective!

Have tried pullups, disposable and cloth and they don't work for us, dd has a very odd shaped bum! lol and pampers acti-fit are the only nappies that don't leak on her.
I don't think it's a case of her wanting to be more grown up or like other kids. I really think she's just fed up with the nappies. and now of course it's turned into a battle of wills between us!

we used to put swim suit or leotard on top of nappies at night time as my girls would happily empty contents and smear the contents all over the bedroom.
