Got to take DS to GP today to see if he will issue a sick note saying that DS is depressed, anxious about school etc.

Still cant believe that after school speaking to clinical psych consultant and she backing up what we say that they still feel the need to have a sick note on DS records, since he went back last week he has been vomiting and soiling himself and we are not sending him back in until this is sorted out properly but, we get the "we can take legal action against parents" noises from EWO and Head Teacher when we told them that.

Have to wait and see what the doc says

well took ds to the gp and asked her for a sick note to which she said -NO, but i will write the school a letter asking them what sort of "medical evidence" do they require as ds is being seen not only by psychology but CAMHS are involved as well and this has been going on for some time.
She is going to put in the letter that due to ds anxiety levels it is best that he doesnt attend school until he has received the sufficient treatment.

So, that should keep school off our backs for the time being.

Your GP sounds really good and supportive. It's a shame you can't say the same for the school. Grrr!

Judt got a phonecall from the Head at Ds school "I am getting my backside kicked for all this absence that DS is having, i cant keep authorising it you know" so i said i am DS parent and i have to put up with how he is like at home as a result of school and what do you want me to do?

"Have you thought about home tuition" she said, i explained to her that if i do that ds wont get any help from LEA then, "yes well you need to think seriousley about what you are going to do, oh and psychiatrist is coming in tomorrow to observe DS in school"

Well, thats nice noone has informed us, AND its the silly one who in his own words"is no expert when it comes to dxing ASD"

Grrr

spoke to consultant psychologist and she has stopped psychiatrist coming into school tomorrow

She has spoken to the head of CAMHS who is going to transfer DS to see a specialist in ASD so thats made us feel better, EWO phoned me and said that it is the HEAD teacher who is disagreeing with DS getting help as he has not been statemented.

In my hand i have a letter from DS GP explaining that he suffers from anxiety due to ASD and that this is the reason he is not attending school so i told EWO and she said that changes everything and is coming to see us tomorrow at 3pm, i have been crying on and off for days as we didnt seem to be getting anywhere but hopefully DS can now have a home tutor.

Will keep you updated

Thanks for reading

Obviously the Head's attendance figures are waaaaaaay more important than your ds being physically ill(!) . Perhaps if the Head had got off his lazy @rse and done something to actually help when ds needed it then things might not have reached this stage!!

Good luck with getting home tuition etc. xx
