Have met some of the therapists and they are brilliant.

However, am off to BIBIC Monday...

Or should be

Do you think I can get anyone in Admin to tell me a time or confirm?

Have had to fight with Admin every step of the way to send stuff, return calls etc- are they always like this?

So are we Davros, that's why I am panicking it's gonna fall through!

Sam is really looking forward to this- we've told him they're going to help Mummy and Daddy and him understand what Aspergers means.

I know many of the staffa ren't in on a Friday, so worried now! Was at a Hindu Commune (don't as k but it was great) all day but had tried and left messages / e-mails with no response.

We've been to BIBIC and found it a very positive experience, but like you, I think the admin is a bit creaky. Perhaps, as they're a charity, they put most of their money into therapists and less into admin staff? That's what I'd like to think anyway! We found that once we got there, everything ran like clockwork - I loved the three days and so did both my sons (one possibly ASD, the other NT we think - has a few odd quirks, which i'll post about on another thread). It's a bit strange they haven't given you a time though. Are you going for a three day assessment? If it's any help, we had to be there at 8.45am on the first day, then it was 9 or 9.15 on the following days. The day ends no later than 4.00, though we finished earlier some days as my son was then only 2. Hope this helps and good luck!

I had to chase them up to confirm booking, etc. which they did. All was in order though and it went smoothly.

Yes...this is interesting. When we went in April all the paperwork came through very smoothly, but I have spoken to them to rebook for next year and havent heard anything by way of confirmation either....and that was probably 3 weeks ago.

Maybe they have lost some staff?

I am sure it will be okay though PeachyClair

I had a giggle when I saw this thread - what everyone has found was exactly our experience. Once you are there, everyone is lovely and it all runs swimmingly. However, before our assessment, firstly, we booked the telephone assessment. The instructions were they would phone at a certain time but, if they didn't, we should phone them. When we phoned them, it was obvious that they had "forgotten" us although, to their credit, they found a therapist to talk to us very quickly. After we had decided to go ahead, I had to keep pestering them for confirmation in writing, reminding them that they hadn't sent any questionnaires to school and the summer holidays were imminent etc. etc. They also got in a mess when we asked for a revision to our report afterwards (not about the actual revision but the school's name and address changed randomly). As has already been said we had to be there first day 8.45/9 am but as we were staying on site it wasn't a problem. Before you leave, you have a feedback session with someone (not someone who is responsible for the therapy or booking side). We were asked about any negatives because they said it was the only way they could improve. We did comment that the admin had been dicy and were told the roles had changed recently and people were getting to grips with it. However, this was early August so there is no excuse now. I would reiterate what others have said, that the experience once you are there is very positive and well worthwhile. Like you I did feel a bit concerned before I went for the same reasons but I am glad that we went.

Thanks everyone. I amanged to get a reply (by copying the e-mail to several people in the cc box... don't know if she got chased but I didn't complai or anything, just sent a nice message stating that we were worried)

9.15 Monday it is. We are having a two day assessment, which a wonderful group is funding for us . I've worked with BIBIC before back in Bridgwater, (we're going to the new one in Cymru) and I know it'll be worth it.
