Hi, i have requested a statement for my 2.8yr old. They wrote back quickly to ask within 29 days, for the clinical diagnosis, etc. But they also ask me as the parent, to make a submission if i want to.

Do i need to use all the jargon? I want a statement which provides my child with 1:1 aba now as well as when he starts school. Any ideas on how my own submission should look like, or should i just speak like i normally speak, i.e. vernacular as opposed to behaviourspeak.??

I could easily make my own submission 10 pages long. Anyone here work with the school board and know what they are actually looking for, eg key words/phrases/deficit explanations?

thanks in advance

Maybe a mixture of vernacular and "behaviour speak" is best as it shows you understand the issues but you're a parent at the end of the day. HITC did a great one a while ago, she's not around much at the moment but might pop in and share! It was for ABA without being toooo obvious and therefore putting them off agreeing to assess.
