so i understand if you all ignore me but.....

if you get higher rate care component you get a higher rate of CTC dont you?

They are trying to pay me the bare minimum on CTC and the computer (the one that doesnt say no) says we should be getting alot higher than what we have been awarded

is anyone any wiser?

Fio - we get middle rate care and get a disability element but I think there is an higher level if you're on high rate care. On your award letter does it say 'you are getting a disability element for 1 of your children'?

Yes, if the child you care for is on higher rate care component you should get more CTC.

sorry just being nosey..but the people on the phone decide something completely different to the computer and to entitled to.com. I get higher rate care due to mh probs and they just dont acknowledge it at all. Even though everywhere else including disability alliance say that should be entitled to more money because of it.

no it didnt

i have just rang back twice. honestly i feel like I am having a relationship with the people on the helplines the amount I have had to ring them back. the disability box wasnt ticked. They have filled it all in, i also had to ring DLA (argh) to get date of award notice and tell tax credits that. Hopefully, hopefully hopefully (fingers crossed0 it will update it now and apparently backdate last years underpayment

oh my last post sounds very optomistic, i am sure it isnt going to be that easy

nemo66 do you get the DLA for one of your children? i think it only qualifies if you get it for one of your children

It does, Fio. My DH get lower care component and he didn't get any extra when he was staying at home to look after DD. It's only if the child is disabled that you're awarded more.

We didn't get it the first year. However, I was sure we were entitled so kept on at them and we did get a years backdated payments.

Hope it gets sorted soon.

Fio, I think your income might be about the same as ours, because I know you just miss out on Family Fund- is that about right.

dingle our income is exactly the same as yours, after all my dear we are living paralell lives! I will email you as we havent caught up for ages

I read one of your threads and I said to my dh, i dont bloody believe this their income is exactly the same as our aswell! it does make me laugh you know and it is very spooky. Everytime i go and visit our friends in O i think of your dh aswell!

it is for me but according to disability alliance should be entitled to more due to not being able to work with the working families...or somethign like that...glad you got it sorted fio

Sorry to interupt but we get tax credits and after reading on here i lokked at entitled to and according to that we are entilted to housing benefit and council tax benefit. Does anyone know if this is true? My dh works and my ds is being assessed at the moment just been told he's got a anxiety dissorder and developmental coordination difficulties he's 9 but is like 5/6yr old.

If your incomes under 14,000 then id say yes you are... go to your local council and ask, and if you ds recieves dla it may be a higher bracket, not sure TBH.

I get extra for DS and DD1 on CTC, I get a disablity allowence. And I got it when DH was working too.

Thanks for that. My dh earns more than that and i did put the income on entilted to and it said we we're entilted to £42.31 a week housing benefit and £9.70 a week council tax benefit.

That seems a lot of benefit if your dh earns over £15k. Are you sure you filled in your weekly income aswell as yearly?

Can i just say 3kids that my dp earns less then £15000 and we aren't entitled to any housing benefit or c/tax benefit, so you might want to check that out further.

That's what i thought. Yes i did do weekly wage as well as yearly.
