DD managed to qualify for a buggy in January and we were lucky enough to get a brand new one. Still very basic, doesn't recline.

Haven't got any asscesories, but I really feel we do need to get a rain cover, tried to manage without one last winter, but when I collect her from nursery in the rain, the seat gets soaked before she get's into it!

Hi chatee i do understand the new majors ( elite models ) are really nice sometimes i feel sorry for my son having to be in it thats y i was asking any way that i could make it look more modern ...i think most people know when they see the blue ones with the grey stripe they know that theyu are the old buggies and ( probley just me ) people might think cant she afford a newer buggy for that child hope this makes sence thanks

Dingle, think I remember reading on MN that one of the standard Argos raincovers will fit a Major - perhaps someone else will know more? It's a much cheaper option as the Maclaren one only works if you have the sunshade to fit it over.
Babyworld sell the Maclaren accessories but I agree they are expensive.

Personally I dont like how they look, i agree that they are extremley dated and although Ive never explored one in detail they never looked particualrly comforatble or supportive? I guess Ill explore the alternatives on the market before deciding

They are pretty basic - we got given a new one but it doesn't recline or anything. However when I first got it it was a dream to push compared to a normal buggy with Ds2 in. Nowdays it seems pretty heavy as well.

I bought a shopping net thing to go under in but we manage without a raincover or anything else. Ebay is quite a good place to try and get accessories cheaper. There is another place I think because that's where I got the shopping net from - I think Anniebear might know. I'll do a search and see if I can find it.

Here is what I was thinking of.
