dyspraxia/adhd has been mentioned by non-professinsals and my other sis who works with SN kids. also possibly leg length discrepancy (her dimples on her back dont appear to be level, but i cant get her to stand straight so cant be sure)

and yes spursmum, sn board is for you.

My out of control ds has ASD and I have absolutely no idea about anything because I had a different idea of ASD to what my ds presents with.

spursmum · 23/08/2005 22:46

Hey misdee, hows life treating you lately?

Report
misdee · 23/08/2005 22:47

spursmum, my dd2 stil lreminds me of your ds (remember how they got on together) but she is vocal.

Blossomhill · 23/08/2005 22:47

Misdee - really hope it all goes well next month!

Spursmum - asd presents differently in all children. Lots of parents on here with children on the spectrum, different severities of it.

Phew!! The only person I know in RL that has experience of ASD is a workmate of the blokey(!) who's brother is completely non-verbal and has a nice, electronic PECS system!! He doesn't have tantrums anymore as he's 16 but he never had them as severe as ds does. Bless him though my ds was as good as gold at a birthday party today.

spursmum are you still going to dolphins?

Report
spursmum · 23/08/2005 22:54

Not at the moment as I've had soo many appointments and getting him into nursery that I just haven't had time. Will start going again soon, going to see if I can change my weekly meeting at the nursery to fridays so I can go straight from dolphins to pick him up.
I've also just applied to have his name changed by deed poll!! no more arsehole!!!

yippee!!

dd2 starts pre-school in sept, so hopefully any 'differences' in her behaviour will be picked up on. She was lying on the floor again in shops yesterday, good old safe mode.
