Hello Everyone,

Can anyone out there recommend a good residential school for autistic children?
I have an 11 year old Autistic son who has verbal dyspraxia.

I'm looking to find a school and would be grateful for any information.

Thanks in advance,
Greenpear

have you seen this one? I used to work in the licensed trade and lived near to where this school is sited....other than that I don't know much about it. The mainstream LVS schools are generally pretty good I think, this specialised one has been open a couple of years now. Maybe worth a look if right area for you?

Ds1 is a day pupil at a school that does weekly boarding. It is an NAS school called Doucecroft in Colchester. IMO is fabulous. Has received outstanding for last two inspections. Staff very caring. Ds1 has made brilliant progress in a very short period of time. Think they are particularly good at the whole life skills and healthy life side of things.
