At parents evening the teacher said 'as you are aware DD showing signs of dyslexia'. Total shock. I smiled and nodded whilst dying instead for poor DD and how could I not have seen it myself.
I have been online and ordered 15 different coloured overlay rulers to try. But it'll take time to stop DD favouring a colouring and finding the one that actually helps. Is there anything more I can be doing at this stage? DD is 6 so too young for an assessment.

Ask the teacher what signs she is referring to. Some specialist dyslexia tutors such as myself will do a "diagnostic" style teaching session to try to identify areas of weakness but it is really too early to go down the formal route. Does he have problems when reading to you each night? If he does he would benefit from a multi sensory approach. Google it or pm me.
