Dd was referred to CAMHS when she was five for anxiety, anger, obsessive behaviour, tics and lacking in social skills. We went through the whole assessment process which took forever but we were being seen regularly and she would go and do art sessions while talking to the member of staff.
Then when she was six we moved, 450 miles and although they referred her on the response I got here was "there's nothing wrong with her".
Three years of fighting with the GP who referred us everywhere except CAMHS (parenting course, outreach worker etc), I finally got lucky and got to see a senior nurse who referred her straightaway. We had a 90 minute appointment and we go back on Monday to see if they will/can help her.
I found the old report today, she just hasn't progressed at all in 3 years. She still has the obsessive behaviours, the same lack of social skills, the same anger, increased anxiety, need to know what's happening obsessively, can't handle change. And lack of sleep. She never sleeps through. Nightmares, sleepwalking. It's just so hard not knowing how to deal with all this.
I'm dreading being told they can't help her on Monday.
