Blue-badge

Hi all,
I applied for a blue-badge for my ASD son due to several instances where he's become distressed and, to be honest, unmanageable on carparks. He has little/no sense of danger and will: run at cars; tryto get under cars, drop/lie on ground etc so I have to eventually carry him. This is becoming really difficult as he's big for his age and a fair old weight! After a horrendous hospital appointment where we couldn't park and ended up a fair hike away (cue meltdown) I decided to apply.
The application has been denied. I was wondering if any other ASD parents have had any success in getting one??

I haven't tried yet. I was offered in Wales but felt we could get by with parent spaces. We now live in England, DS is 11 and over 5ft so well out of parent spaces.

The stuff i've read says its very area dependent. Do you have medical people i.e. Your consultant supporting your application?

Does he get higher rate mobility DLA?

Hi, I have his Orthotics letters (for tip-toe walking) & DLA letter, but because he only qualifies for the lower mobility rate, the answer seems to be an outright no.
The refusal reminds me of a "computer says no" situation Wink
