SEN Budget slash at DS school

Had a letter today saying ds' school budget for SEN is being slashed by 25k. There will be a TA in the class for 4 days a week next year in year 1 and 3 days from year 2. DS has SEN and once again I am left wondering where will this end?! I'm not overly concerned about next year but 2 days a week in year 2 seems totally unreasonable.

I'm angry and upset not only for my ds but all the other children this will affect. Is the situation the same in all schools? What can I do if anything?

What are his SEN needs? Does her have a statement? Is his in an IEP, individual education plan?

It is the same situation in all UK school, all SEN provisions changed in April this year. Schools had to wait until then to see what £ they got and what they could do with it, which is presume why you got this letter now that they have sorted out what they can do with the £.

find out why the budget is being cut, sen funds shoud be spent on sen but are not ring fenced so they can be spent on anything, the local council are meant to aduit/check but they have no actual powers even to get the information, one of the school governors are legally responcible for SEN so find out who they are and talk to them as well.
