Variance in VR Scores

Has anyone else's AS child demonstrated a huge discrepancy in their scores on VR tests? Mine bombed out in her grammar one but was given a scholarship to another school on the basis of her standardised VR score of 140. The only difference I could see between the testing procedure is that the pen/paper multiple choice one was poor and the online one was...well surprising. I mean, exceptional. Why such a massive difference if she is capable of 140!????
