Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

A portrait of your child in oil paint or pastel will be treasured forever.

Hello
My name is Sophie Ploeg. I am a Dutch artist (and mother of 2 little boys), but have lived in the UK for nearly 10 years. I specialize in painting portraits and I love painting babies and children.

Why not consider having me paint your child (or parents, pet, etc) and you will have a true heirloom in the family, or the perfect unique and original gift? I can paint from your photos (I can help choose) and I can work in graphite (pencil), pastel or oil paint. Prices start at £40 for graphite, £120 for pastel and £200 for oils.
Please visit my website for more info and examples of my work:

Best wishes

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
