Close sling seems very long, am I doing it right?

I've been trying out a Close sling with a baby doll but it seems like the ends trail very far down my legs!

Is this how it should be? I'm aware that the doll is smaller than a baby but still it seems like a lot of excess iyswim? I'm 5ft 5in so not particularly short. Only previous sling experience was with a Coorie pouch sling so didn't have this problem at all.

Yes it does trail down a lot. I normally tie the ends back around the front underneath my daughter's bottom - does that make sense?

It's a FAB comfy sling though - my 5 month old basically lives in it!
