Baby in a sling

I've just started wearing Close Parent Caboo sling today for the first time. DS is 7wo.

He does fall asleep in it, but he cries and tries to wriggle out at first. He calms down after some walking/rocking/bouncing around. He is quite an active baby, hates being swaddled, so I guess he doesn't like being restrained.

I was wondering if anyone also had a baby who didn't quite like the sling at first, but then started to enjoy it? I just don't want to feel like I'm forcing him every time. He's quite clingy baby and wouldn't sleep alone in his crib for longer than 20 mins, so I end up being imprisoned on the sofa all day with him... The sling has changed that, and I don't want to give it up...

First time mum here, so would appreciate your comments.

Thanks Thanks

Lots of babies don't like it at first but get used to it quickly, and then grow to love it.

My youngest yelled the first few times. Babies are usually much happier on the move, so before you put him in have everything ready to go for a walk (his hat at the ready, your coat at the ready, shoes on etc), put him in, and go for a walk outside. He'll be asleep in 5 minutes. After a few walks he should get more used to it and be happy just pottering about in the house.

FWIW my initial-sling-refuser is now 21 months and still asks to go in the sling frequently.

My daughter hated our wrap and would get too hot so we contacted our local sling library and ended up borrowing then buying a Connecta Solarweave which we both love :p
