Would you put dd in a moby yet?

Stretchy wraps are used for preemie babies so I don't think there is a need to wait until 8lbs. I would use an upright hold which is much safer than cradle hold, and pay attention to the TICKS guidelines for safe babywearing www.schoolofbabywearing.com/Images/TICKS.pdf

Sorry, her face. (Obv stuck in blissful reminiscence of my own moby-baby there!)

I think I would (mine was also 7lbs6oz at birth, although he'd regained and then some by day 5 so may well have been 8lbs by the time we went out in the moby at 10 days). I had actually remembered the advice as having been 7.5lbs anyway, rather than 8. blush

I'd use it upright, rather than cradle hold, and I guess check every now and then to make sure his face is uncovered, but if you're anything like me you'll be doing that anyway! Happy slinging, and congratulations on your lovely new baby.

Dd is 11 days old and I'm housebound after a CS - DH is back at work and obviously I can't drive yet. I'm feeling fine and well up for a walk though - can't take the pram by myself as I'd have to bump it down some steps and it's too heavy. I have my moby all ready though and I'd love to put her in it for a stroll round the block, but it says don't use it until baby weighs 8lb. She was 7lb 6oz at birth, went down to 7lb 2oz by day 5 and is being weighed again later today. Do I really need to wait until she's 8lbs? Also, any moby-user tips for when I do go out with her? Thanks!
