Stretchy wrap suddenly not holding 11mo, what next?

Have been using a stretchy wrap for DS3 happily since he was tiny. He's 11months old now and the last few times he's been really unstable and I've been constantly adjusting him. I think I need something a bit more structured but don't know where to start. There is no sling meet or library here Sad

I moved from a Moby onto an Ergo and we love it. Ds is 11 months too, and he's very comfy

You could get a woven wrap? Use like your stretchy but also in lots of other ways including back carries. Or if that is daunting a full buckle carrier. The North East Sling Library does postal hire so you could try some out cheaply :)

Used a KariMe then an Ergo for all 3 dc. Dc3 nearly 2 and hoping to get another year out of it.

I like mei tais after stretchy wrap - kozy carriers are my faves, nice and tall so last right till big toddler / preschool and not too pricy.

Wow thanks for the fast replies Smile
Will do some googling!
Very pleased to hear about postal hire.
Thanks.

nearly all libraries do postal hires which is good. Where roughly are you? there might be a sling addict near you willing to help.

Sorry if you've already tried this, but have you washed it? I had a stretchy wrap which seemed to spring back when I washed it (M&P flexi one, which consisted of 2 loops and another band, all lycra jersey).

I use a connecta. I think it's termed a soft structured carrier. It fastens with buckles so is a bit easier to get on and off. Hardly takes up any space in a bag either. I have a breathable, lightweight version but you can get some lovely prints and fleecy ones too.

Oh, forgot to add, the main reason I got it was the good reviews that it does not pull on your shoulders. The waist strap really does take the weight.
