boba wrap hold question

my son is not loving being in his new boba wrap (he is 5 months and never been in a carry thing before). he seems to feel quite restricted. i notice that the moby wrap (i have a boba/sleepy wrap) has a hip hold as well, but the instructions for the boba say no... anyone know why??

Are his arms out, or wrapped?

I used a moby, rather than a boba, and moved on at 4mo (not because he was too heavy/uncomfy, just felt like a change) so tbh I never looked at arms out and not sure when it becomes appropriate, just thinking aloud really.

Sometimes I only put him in the crossed bits, and didn't pull the horizontal bit of material over the top - would that help? (I did it because it made us both cooler on hot days, but it is probably also less restrictive.)

No idea re the hip hold. I never used it.

went out with him in his wrap to the shops yesterday. if i leave his arms out until he falls asleep, and then tuck him in, he is ok with it. he was actually good as gold, so hopefully he is getting used to it! achy back today tho :(

Great news about him, less great about your poor back! Have you got the material really well spread over your shoulders and back - that always made a big difference to me?

yeh i think its all in the practice! it bunched a bit and made my shoulder ache, but my back is feeling ok today so will hopefully be fine when i wrap like a pro!
