Close baby carrier vs. Kari-Me

Which is better for a small newborn? Leaning toward the Close baby carrier as I've actually seen it in action and looks a bit less fiddly but very open-minded!

just got a kari-me for 7 week old DD. It really is fab. very simple to tie and I am not usually good at these things.

I would be worried about losing/forgetting/leaving behind one of the pieces of the Close!

Loved my Kari-Me though, so I am biased!

A stretchy wrap like a kari me or a moby is likely to last you longer than a close. Also, once you've got the hang of a stretchy, you'll find a woven sling a piece of cake if you want to keep carrying your baby once s/he gets heavier.
Have you looked at slingguide.co.uk? Lots of useful stuff there, including tying videos and places where you can buy them (new or secondhand).

I have both and much prefer the Kari me over the close. It's super easy to use a stretchy wrap.

I loved the Close carrier when DD was small and found it easier to use than a Moby when I was just starting with wraps. It's made of the same kind of stretchy fabric and only has two v. simple pieces.

I don't think any of the stretchies are supportive enough for bigger babies. But any of those mentioned here would be fine at the start.

I have a closer and moby I agree closer much less fiddly. I also felt the closer 'pouch' part offer better support during the newborn stage.

I have the Close and really liked it, until recently. DD is a porker and, now she's hit 6 months I find that the fabric gradually stretches and needs retying. I'm sure this would be the same for any stretchy wrap though.

The Close is easy to put on, and much more comfortable than the ring slings I've tried.

I used the close carrier for well over 9 months with DS2 and loved it - it was in constant, every day use. I've no experience with the kari-me though...
