soft back carrying sling for 9 month old?

I already have a wrap and a meitei but I find the straps on the meitei fall off my shoulders and it is not always a comfy as I would like.

I have a dodgy lower back and am looking for the most comfortable back carrying sling to carry my 9 month in.

I was thinking Ergo? Is there something that is better than my babyhawk meitei or is the problem with my weak back? Any suggestions are gratefully received Smile

I will watch this thread with interest, I would really love a soft back carrying sling but the Ergo is soooo expensive.

tbh my most comfortable back carrier is my wrap!
I have an ergo, but ds3 is quite tall and it just doesn't suit him. I can carry him far longer in the storch than I can in the ergo

unflattering as it can be to your norks, have you tried crossing the mei tai straps on your chest?

I have an Action Baby Carrier but no-one in the uk stocks them any more afaik
The Patapum is cheap but as the sleep hood attaches with poppers, if it drops off while you are backcarying there is no way you can reattach it unaided

oh yes, def cross mei tai straps. wrap can be slightly kinder to norks if you do a tibetan

i've got a rose and rebellion, which is great, although i still haven't mastered getting ds on and off my back singlehandedly yet.

they're £75 new but i noticede there's one going on ebay at the moment with a £20 bid on it ...

Cam, it'd be worth tracking down a alignment to crack that
i have to put the waist belt on, tuck ds under my armpit, bend over so my back is horizontal and then slither him round so he's sitting on me like a horse.
He's happy up there clinging to my hair while i get the straps over my shoulders, then i stand up so gravity drops him into the pouch.
The r&rs are lovely, lucky you

thanks mrsb - slingmeet would be a good idea but i always seem to miss the local one.

was quite excited by the idea of an alignment though for a minute - thought it must a device like a shoe horn or something for getting your dc on your back Smile

loopymumsy and mrsbadger thanks for the advice re the mei tei. I will have a go at crossing the straps and try doing a lexi

Will be back if this doesn't help Smile

BTW I like my wrap but I take ages to tie it in comparison with my meitei.

Hiya,

Has anyone had experience of the rose and rebellion and the beco butterfly 2; wodering how they compare in terms of comfort but mainly the height in the back support.

Thanks
