Good afternoon from another blonde, may I pull up a cushion? Would welcome advice and encouragement...have been member of SW off and on over the years...love the eating plans especially Green, not being a major meat-eater. Need to lose 10 pounds minimum, one stone maximum to get back to my ideal weight for height...BUT...can't stand going to "class"! No problem with being weighed, nor having my progress or lack of it discussed in front of others, just hate all the chit-chat, the promotion of SW products, the (sometimes) disapproval if you don't stay to class etc. Just don't function well in that group environment.
So am thinking of doing the online membership instead. Any of you out there doing that - any opinions? Can you do it successfully that way without the classes? I ask this as in the early days I did find the discipline of knowing I would be weighed at a certain time and day a help.
Would love to have a chat with you all on this thread to get me going!

Well I've just signed up for the online package as I know if I was to start going to classes I would not carry on, and my diary is pretty busy anyway and I don't want another evening commitment. I know it's only a minimum of 10 lbs, max of 14 to lose but believe me that is a whole dress size for me and will make the difference between a whole set of clothes fitting me, which are currently on the tight side and not a good look.
BTW I am mid 50s, post menopausal but find it SO difficult to lose weight now as opposed to my late 30s when I first did SW and lost 21lbs (post having kids). Did it again in my 40s and got on okay. Last SW attempt was about 3 years ago and was a disaster.
Hope this thread will take off as am really needing moral support!

a stone can make all the difference from clothes fitting nicely or you bulging out of them smile

hola!! grin just marking my spot. i am going alone too and have lost ten pound in three month very slowly, just embarking on a spot of running so hoping this will help me get to the magic stone then i will ease up.

I'm like Blondes and going it alone. I joined online last year, got all the stuff and then did absolutely nothing with it. My strange work hours and travelling mean that I could never get to a regular class. With the support of the ladies on this thread I've lost 15 pounds since January and still going - albeit very slowly.

Bean I would settle for around a stone over 2.5 months; well done, you! And noyou as well. I think I have to accept even a pound a week would now be good at my age. I used to be quite stupid at times when on the SW bandwagon in the past - e.g. eating practically nothing all day when I knew I was being weighed that night - madness! (Then eating all in sight after class!)
None of that now. I go on holiday second week in April so am aiming for about a 4lb loss by then. Next a wedding first week of May, so another 3lb by then.
What I do need to do is get my head around Extra Easy because that is all new since I was last there.
Can anyone tell me if I can have EE days alternating with Green days?

Reading my posts back I need to develop a bit more of a positive attitude!
I am trying to go swimming 2 mornings a week and get out for at least a couple of decent walks each week, having given up gym memberships when I last gave up SW.
Just been reading latest SW magazine and getting plenty of encouragement from that too!

hiya i was doing see and green and sort of stopped losing so switched to doing a bit of extra easy and i had more of a loss, i just mix red and green cot throw in a ee day when my planning has gone tits up - basically its red and green mixed up with only one healthy a or b instead of two.

Welcome double you will get used to us crazy bunch ha ha. I dont do the class just weigh every week at boots I started on the 7th Jan and to date iv lost one and a half stone still a long way to go though.

Well after my bad week I amazingly stayed the same !!!!!!!! I can only presume it is the sheer amount of walking I do as I dont drive and last week my dh was away at the races so I did the walking to school thing in the morning which I dont usually do. So I am a really happy bunny.

I found it came off really well, just been stuck at 1/2 and 1lb loses for the last few weeks. I don't really like group, no consistent consultant, had about 3 different ones over the last 4 weeks, and nothing from the original one. Heyho...all for a greater purpose. Hitting my 10% was a huge thing for me, and dead chuffed I did it.

Welcome double. This is a great thread with some really good support, hope you have fun with us. I am 51 and like you post menopause. agree the weight just doesn't drop off now, it really takes some effort. I've lost 1.5 stone since the end of September, so very slow progress but hopefully it'll stay off and i feel and look a lot better already. But I've three stone to go to a healthy BMI. I will get there <<grits teeth>>.

So I'm starting this thread with my before and after!

I started on 21/11/12 at 16st 6.5oz. I was wearing size 20/22 clothes.

Last Weds I was 14st 11oz and all my old size 18 clothes either fit or are a little loose!

I have set a target at 14st 7oz as I want to have a realistic weight that I can maintain (forever) while not feeling restricted in what I eat. I will see how I get on and lower it if I need to. It does mean an 'overweight' BMI of 29 but currently that is the least of my concerns!

Ideally I now need to work on toning the flabby bits - I have yoga and Pilates DVDs but have yet to do them. I have many excuses but essentially I just cba...

Bonjour!! Pushes cushions out of the way to get to the snacks!

Lying in bed contemplating getting a shower but cba! Will ned to shift this lardy ar*e shortly as need to check out of hotel, eat and be downstairs ready to function by 8am. Have enjoyed not having to cook for 2 days and some me time, but missing the kids. Should be out of here by 2 and home by 3 at the latest.

Have surprised myself with my food choices and restraint. Will need to crack on this week when get home as missed WI. Could go to one later this week but may not bother as usual WI is Monday. I did use scales at gym last friday as they do a printout, so will do the same this fri. Need to kickstart losses as too slow. Taken me 3 months to lose a stone. Want another one gone by end May.

Hello Everyone! I started 11st 8.8lbs and I'm now 9st 11.2 lbs. Technically I'm not supposed to WI until tomorrow but I was so excited I did it this morning and my BMI is now 24.88, I'm healthy for the first time in about 6.5 years!

BadRoly thats very sensible, I don't know if I'll be able to maintain my target weight so I'm happy with an extra half a stone than I want. If that makes sense (it does in my head).

Aw well done kissmygirls, it feels so worthwhile when that BMI isnt scarey anymore - i not technically due to weigh till friday either but did yesterday and have gained a toot so am going to be uber good till friday now, i feel a bit ropey to be honest and a bit gutted will miss my my exersise tonight as a result. Dd not so rosey either so half expect a school call though she is adamant shes just tired.

I am on a fridge empty/eat up today so have had leftover Chinese takeaway for lunch - boiled rice, 1/4 'box' each of chicken chow mein and beef in black bean sauce. I am counting it as 10 syns but would be shocked if it really was wink

For tea I am doing proper carbonara for the kids (which I don't like) and I'm having leftover SW chilli with a jacket.

I had banana for breakfast so will use hifi bars and babybel when the munchies hit...

SW pastry free quiche.

Ingredients:

4 slices smoked bacon (fat cut off) - fried in fry light, drain excess water

2 leeks sliced
1 medium sweet potato diced into bite sized chunks
Fried in fry light until soft (apps 10 mins)

Whisk 4 eggs with 200g quark AND 200g light cottage cheese
Add salt and pepper

Mix all ingredients together

Spray fry light into flan dish and pour in mixture of all ingredients)

Grate cheese from allowance on top

Bake at 180 for about 20-25 mins (sometimes a little longer depending on oven but you will know by sight when it's cooked)

Serve with new pots and salad

Cut eft overs into chunks and freeze for another day.

Sometimes I add roasted peppers too (arranged in an arty fashion on top of the mixture)

The quiche rises quite high and then deflates when out of the oven.

Butternut squash soup - free (leeks, carrots, butternut squash, stock cube, water, salt, pepper, cumin)

Left over home made coronation chicken - chicken is free, mayo light 2syns), a teaspoon of mango chutney (1.5 syns), curry powder

Ok, pre WI tonight, I have had:

B: muller light, blue berries, hi if bar (HEb)

L: baked beans, topped with cheese (hea). Muller light, banana, Sharon fruit, mandarin

Zippo syns so far.... Dinner is planned to be smoked salmon pasta, with whipped up yog instead of sour cream (sounds disgusting, tastes yum) with salad.

Fingers crossed for a loss (any loss!) tonight....

I'm in grin I've been doing the extra easy plan since 8th jan, at week 7 I was 0.5lb off losing 2 stone smile all good except it was my birthday that weekend (8th march). celebrations made me put on 1lb! hmm So weigh in tomorrow will hopefully have me smiling as I have been good all week. This is the first time in my life (34 years old and always been very large) I am determined to lose weight. I will keep going

I have found it helps to plan the week. I do the food shop on a Friday, so thurs night is meal plan night. Although i do I need some tips to stop me slipping back into old habits of m&s/boots lunches, instead of healthy packed lunches. Plus it's cheaper to take me own grin

fish you are meant to have your a and b each day-works out 6 syns for each and means you have the right amount of fibre and calcium in your diet

again syns vary, sw say you can have 15 a day-105 a week

seems if i eat 15 a day i sts/gain

i try to have 70/80ish over the week

Oh dear. Just back from WI. Gained 1/2 lb. which in itself isn't a disaster but over the last 6 weeks I ' ve basically STS. Gah!

I did have several meals out last week. Upped the exercise but clearly not enough. Really need to make progress now. I know I've got to cut back on the booze, that's where nearly all my syns go. Feel like pouring a big one though.

Green day

Breakfast - W'bix (hxb) Semi skim milk (hxa)
Lunch - mushroom omelette, salad, Shape zero fat yoghurt
Dinner - pilau rice, sweetcorn, peas, tomatoes, Dole fruit pot of peaches, another Shape yoghurt

Teas and coffees - milk from allowance

Syns - salad dressing, light olive oil, dole peaches, pilau rice (half a pack)
Options hot choc drink

Does that sound okay? Could I have had more hxs?

Feel fine - haven't felt hungry. Have kept busy!

Oh and did 1 hour walk this eve, chatting with friend. Off to bed now.

I only lost 1.2lbs this week, one of my smallest losses to date. I had a big tuna sandwich and a sausage roll Friday lunch time and a curry on Sat night so that plus the lack of walking due to the kids could explain it though. I know it could have been worse through!

<wombles in> hi all seem to have been stuck at a plateau for a while perhaps because I have not been following plan but back on the wagin with you all now.

My boss told me I looked like I had lost an "incredible amount of weight" and today I tried on a size 14 dress from Dotty Ps and it fitted ( well my norks tried to escape but they always do). I am holding on to the fact my waist looks slimmer even though Ive lost no weight IYSWIM

double on green days you should have 2x hea and 2 heb choices! That the great thing about them! I only do green as I'm veggie.

I have your quiche in my oven right now Paxdora. Well half of it, my flan dish was overflowing so I've had to split it into 2 flan dishes. So it may be more of an omelette than a quiche...

Unfortunately, I am ravenous so am scouring the kitchen for munchies as it bakes. So far it has been mostly fruit, with 1 rich tea, but I am eyeing up the jar of pickled eggs...

Jacket spud with chicken and salad for tea. Off to Zumba in a bit, to work my tooshie off. Saying that I must've walked about 4 miles getting dd2 and 3 to a cross country comp! I will be slim and healthy for the summer grin

A colleague at work has commented i look like i have lost weight but then she probably just wants me to stop being so anal about everything i eat. Dh thinks my baby house has shrunk a bit and my pyjamas do fall down as i walk. Anyway today i have had:
breakfast - weetabix (HEA)
lunch: sushi
tea: oh dear blush a sausage roll and pasta and sauce but in my defence mlord i then went out and did a run, i have made homemade soup for tomorow and have a yogurt and raspberries for laters.

Tiger I haven't been buying them as last time I filled the biscuit tin, the dc and their friends drilled it in one go angry so I refused to fill it again. That was over a month ago. But I went to Lidl and stocked up again today, gave the dc 1 each then sat next to the open packet and just ate them mindlessly angry.

I have struggled to stop eating chocolate (would eat a big bar each evening) but I'm obviously still craving sweet sugary stuff and all I have in the house is biscuit...

Hmmm, it is difficult, and I know, sometimes only choc or biscuits will do. Do you like muller lights? The toffee ones are nice, and I have one of those if I fancy something sweet. I don't have a massive sweet tooth though so can resist. The frozen muller light was ok. I have two more in the freezer but I prob won't repeat that experiment!

Don't dwell on the biscuits Roly - easier said than done I know. Write it off as a bad day and start again tomorrow. We're all in this for the long haul and there'll be some blips on the way. Just think about those Boden cords at the bottom of the recycling bin, you've done really well, don't give up.

Aw badroly sorry about the biscuit binge, my sweet go to's are vanilla and dark choc mullerlight, choc and fudge Alpen lights (2 as hexb or 3 sync each) or I suck on a mini dairy milk that I got a tube of for Christmas (2.5 syns?). Let it melt in your mouth it lasts for ages and then just enjoy the taste!

When I fancy junk food I have Pepsi Max, its syn free but very junk foody.

Blondes don't do it!!!

Sometimes I wonder if WW would be easier seeing as how you can have the ready meals, but I hate the kids eating processed food and assume it would be more expensive.

I know I've done well on this diet and sometimes I feel a bit patronising giving other people encouragement when they binge, I don't mean to I really hope we all do well. But I must confess I have a HUGE motivator to get me going, my ridiculously attractive, size 8, 5'7" best friend asked me to be bridesmaid. All the other bridesmaids are similarly slim and pretty. I don't mind being the ugly one but I'm not being the fat, ugly one!

You could also add Muller Light yogurts to your list and Alpen Light bars (you can have two as a HeB so they are good for snacks). If you like Ryvita you can have 3 or 4 as a HeB - more filling than just one slice of bread.

So a maximum of 18syns. Syns on the nuggets are for the breadcrumbs - not weighed so probably an overestimate. Only had a few chips as had loads of beans (and wasn't really hungry).

Hello everyone! Welcome cupcake, some good food ideas there. Can't go wrong with fruit, baked beans and a few tins of veg of various sorts, rice, pasta and spuds as long as you cook'em right. And muller lights and I like the SW hifi bars, they are sweet and fibrous - what's not to like.

Still being not too bad:

Walked a brisk 1.5 miles this morning

B: muller light and blue berries, a hifi bar (HEb)

L: chicken, salad, lots of things in it but no dressing

D: not sure yet, I have had two small glasses prosecco and half a glass of wine, and three rolled up pieces of lean beef at a do, and have got some leftover carbonara in the fridge, could have that.

So the only syns are in the drinks - maybe 12 in total? I haven't had any syns since Monday, so with the walking, I think I'm still on track <<hopeful>>

This is a great thread - loads of advice and support
Sorry not been on for a couple of days but have been really concentrating hard and trying to get my head round doing Extra Easy instead of Green. I'm not a vegetarian but eat very little meat - hate anything chewy, fatty or gristly. But love chicken, fish, seafood.
Am I right in concluding that on EE I can only have 1 HE A and 1 HE B per day (on green I could have 2 of each?)
I notice from the latest SW magazine that very few of the recipes have a Green Syn value - they are mainly EE.
Anyway, I made the cheesy pasta bake last night (p.31) left out the ham so I guess it was a Green meal like that. It was tasty.
From my previous forays into SW, I recall Batchelors Savoury Rice was free - is that still the case?
Feeling a bit thwarted today as had planned outdoor exercise and we have 6" snow in the north...also was going to drive to local swimming pool and can't get my car out.
Well done to you all anyway on your endeavours, and losses where applicable, I am finding this thread SO encouraging.

Not a great day today sad. We took DS out for a Chinese meal for tea (his request) and although I had prawns as a starter and then prawns with ginger as a main course with boiled rice I suspect it was still syns-ful. Have also had a couple of glasses of wine.

Pretty much syn-free the rest of the day apart from 3 ryvitas though.

Not expecting a loss tomorrow tbh - too much wine and eating out this week. I did however try on a pair of trousers that I bought before Christmas (and could hardly do up) and they are actually loose so something is working.

I'm very pissed off. Have stuck to plan exactly and had less than 5 sins every day except for Thursday when had about 12 and lost .5lb this week. Put on .5 last week so 2 weeks hard dieting for nothing. Started with personal trainer at the gym 3 weeks ago and weight loss has basically stopped sad

Am working so hard it's so demoralising.. Is it because I'm within sight of goal do you think ( about 7/8 lbs to go )

Fish I notice that if I've done lots of exercise my weight loss isn't always quicker. Possibly you're just converting fat to muscle, what kind of exercise are you doing? Try checking your inches and wether clothes are looser as well.

Can I join you? I'm not a 'proper' member of SW at the moment though I've done the online membership successfully before. I kind of maintain by cooking SW recipes most of the time but as I'm not very good I've let about half a stone creep back. Hard to find the motivation to deal with it, but I know I'd look much better without it.
I'd love to know everyone's favourite SW recipes. We regularly have steak and SW chips with salad (DH heartily approves) and fish/prawn dishes. I could use some inspiration for easy things to cook in the evening that are tasty!

hello, i joined slimming world 9 weeks ago and have lost 17lb, but put a pound on last week, but it was my 50th Birthday, iam on the extra easy, never done this before,and cant believe the amount i can eat, i am also cooking a lot more healthly meals,and make loads of soups and desserts, the half a syn cake is my fav,as i can eat the whole thing over a couple of days smile

Iam starting swimming on thursday with my daughter,as i dont feel too bad in a swimming costume,but not really comfy, so its a matter of out of changing room,and a quick jump in :P got a brilliant pull me in costume with a proper fitting bra from marks and spencers,so every little bit helps with my journey,hope to loose another 2 stone, but know it will probably slow down a bit now.

L - mashed potato with leftover tomato and butter bean casserole from last night
D - SW fish pie with veg

Yogurt and fruit as snacks.

I made this last night. Used fry light instead of olive oil and replaced the pork sausages with quorn ones (no chorizo) and butter beans instead of aduki beans - it was really good served with 'free' mash.

Well I had a rubbish nights sleep (not sure why) however since I joined sw on Thurs generally I have been sleeping so much better, I think its because i'm not eating all the sugar that I was.

I am dragging hubby and my little girl(5) out for a walk today so we all get some fresh air and I can burn off some cals!!!!

hi all!!

reading this thread I am so inspired to start again... i am not comfortable in group meetings - cant understand why... but thus it is..
Seven stone to lose. Hell. Heck. Dammit & F*ck!
Me and DH both work full time with 3 dc's but i know that i have plenty of time outisde of work to tackle this.
On medication for anxiety as well as on the mini-pill - certainly not a good combo for weight loss! that and the 3-4 bottles of wine per week.
Doc gave off to me several months ago that i needed to take some time for myself and take better care. Still not started. Find it hard.

Agree re the sugar.... i love 1/2 tsp in coffee and def want to keep that going!

Finally bought a pair of size 14 work trousers as my friend said at work on saturday that I looked like I had s**t myself in my 16s so went to tesco and bought some new ones. Great feeling.

Evening - had a rather hectic week and limited internet connection (blaming the Sky box for that) and was naughty with hot cross buns and pizza! Managed to get to a WI today, not my usual one, but at least I went! Gained half a pound - not bothered as will be extra good this week!

Plan is to lose a stone before end of may when grits and I go on holiday to Center Parcs!! grin. However, she will be the slinky one and I will skulking in the trees trying to avoid her!!

androb I am so excited, only 9 weeks I think! I have all my activities booked and restaurants, went and looked at the menu and my eye was immediately drawn to the most SW friendly options. Will most likely partake in way to much alcohol though!

My weight loss has slowed to 1.5lbs a week, but I'm being more realistic as to what my diet will be like when I hit my target. I should still be in decent shape by Center Parcs, although Easters coming up so maybe not!

Just had my first Alpen light bar, aren't they lovely smile

B: fruit and fat free fromage frais/sweetener

L: bachelor chicken rice (about 3/4)

Well good news from me, lost 4lbs in my first week! you may recall doing it via the online system as have had enough of the dreaded "groups".
Really pleased with that, although have gone at it hell for leather and not sure if I can maintain the momentum - was only aiming for 2lbs and am sure it will be less next week.
Am going on hols on 8 April and wanted to have lost about 5lbs by then so going well.
Am now getting used to the EE plan and am really liking it although I do struggle with only 1 of each HE (could have 2 on green plan)
Have to have lunch out tomorrow with a friend who from past experience will not be happy if she thinks I am trying to lose weight as she is "bigger" than I am and has made the odd comment to me in the past - you know the sort of thing "What? You? Dieting? You're fine as you are..."
Any thoughts on how to deal with this?
The reason I think I have done so well this week is that I've been mostly at home with no outside influences.
I will be looking for something EE on the menu tomorrow like fish with veg or salad and I may have a gin and slimline or a small glass of red. TBH it's the friend I'm worried about more than the food.

fish - tbh i dont think much of alpens lights sad prefer to use my b on a brown roll or some kind of cereal

roly - i had fahitas the other week, was yummy, tho did have a wrap,but the chicken, peppers, onions all free, had cheese as my a and salasa think was 2

never did work out the syn value for the wrap, but was well worth it

double - fab loss, well done smile and diet coke chicken is so scrummy, tastes like bbq sauce, it thickens after 30ish mins cooking - i add peppers, onions and sweetcorn or frozen veg to mine

nice with pasta/rice/noodles or over a jacket - i add a crumbled stock cube to furballs recipe - it really tastes fab and so bad but totally sun free smile

gave to oh once, said it was yum, though when i said made with diet coke/pepsi max he was then disgusted grin

can also make sweet and sour chicken, same recipe but use sugar free fanta and add pineapple at end

Hi all. Have been distracted by filthy weather then work. Had WI today and...I lost 2.5 lbs. so hooray, watching the syns really carefully and walking most days has paid off. I am now 2 stone 11.5 away from target, but have lost 1stone 9.5, so more than 1/3 there....

Just realised that 2st 11.5 is 39.5 lbs. that sounds even more manageable. If I could do 2lb a week, it would take 5 months......getting near there by Xmas will do me though....

Been to gym yesterday, had lovely salad for lunch with hard boiled egg and then syn free spring rolls and stir fry veg for tea - made with canelloni tubes, but should have cooked them for longer. Been for a long walk today to get a present, plus my usual walking around site.

kissmygrits - we too have booked some activities - horse riding and pico sailing for DD and family football for the big and small boys. Booked Hucks for tea on the Thursday, but nothing else - hoping the weather will be good and can spend time outside on some of the trails. Hoping to take the bikes too.

Sounds like everyone is having a good start to the week - not bad considering the poor weather we are having. Spring should be round the corner ... please!!

Salmon fishcakes = really nice, I used tinned red salmon, missed out the lemon instead I added some steamed spring onion and served with mushy peas a few sw chips and a dollop of ketchup

Pete’s Salmon Fishcakes

Serves 4

Ingredients

400g potatoes/ 2 large potatoes (ff)
140g fresh salmon/ 2 salmon fillets (ff)
1 handful of parsley
1 lemon (ss)(sff)

Method

Peel and cut the potatoes and boil them in salted water in a large saucepan, after 10mins put a bamboo steamer or a colander, on top of the saucepan, with the salmon in it, seasoned with salt & pepper, if using a colander cover with cooking foil to allow the salmon to steam. Cook for a further 10 mins.

When the potatoes and the salmon are cooked then remove the salmon, flake it and remove the skin, and place in a grass dish, drain the potatoes and then return to the pan, mash and allow to cool.

Add the potatoes, lemon rind & juice, parsley and salt & pepper, scup up in your hand a portion of the mix and form into a fishcake, adjusting them to a size that suits you.

Place into a fridge to allow them to stiffen.

Spray a frying pan with Fry Light and cook until browned, turn over and repeat.

Evening grin I am feeling full on motivated today - could all go wrong but today is positive!

S-banana, black coffee x2, apple
L-pasta, tuna, sweetcorn, 2 light blue laughing cow (1/2 heA),water
S-grapes, Alpen light bar (1/2 heB), 3 chocolate eggs (weighed in at 23g so 6.5syns).
T-jacket, beans, 2 sausages (3syns each), carrots. Water, peppermint tea, 1 rich tea biscuit (2 syns)
So as long as I stay focused I'm on 14.5 syns for today. I am planning to have another light bar (1/2heB) and 1 baby bel (1/2heA) later when I'm getting the supper time bored munchies...

Sorry haven't been around much, too many work things and despite being good with food I have had far too much wine. Again blush.

Well done to those of you that have lost this week grin.

L - vegetable soup (homemade with no fat and lot of beans/lentils etc)

Not sure how Easter weeekend will pan out though, think I might be 'relaxing' the rules somewhat and come back to the plan properly on Tuesday.

Beans we have nothing much planned - just looking forwards to doing stuff all together (dh works away Mon-Thurs). We're in Cornwall so plenty to do grin

I am not going to sweat it if I fall off the plan, April includes Easter eggs wink, dh's birthday, our wedding anniversary, ds1's birthday, my bf's dh's 60th party and my Mum coming down for 2 weeks...

My goal is not to put on too much rather than try and lose!

I must admit im a little concerned about the impact of easter, i am of with the dc a lot of it as is dh who likes to treat us to eating out when on hols then to add to it i gave up chocolate for lent and have a ton of it looking at me willing it to be easter sunday - oh dear will this be the unravelling of me?

NoYou - as I see it, this is something I want to maintain for life. Which means that there will be fluctuations and some weeks will be a write off. I think if we can accept that and not beat ourselves up for eating our body weight in chocolate one weekend, then we will achieve our target weights eventually AND THEN MAINTAIN THEM FOR GOOD!

I realise I am the person who this time last week was sobbing over custard creams but I was having a very very baaaad week last week emotionally!

Well, feeling pretty positive ATM. I now have a walking buddy at work, we are donning our leggings and doing half hour walks, briskly, twice a week. I suspect she's a MN (we had a chat today about things that make you feel grown up, it was basically a MN thread!). So am on track with exercise and food and drink is ok, I have had a couple of vodka and sodas in the last couple of days, tonight is wine night, but then off to my mums, she has just taken the pledge. However after 60+ years of drinking what she likes, I am a bit sceptical. Have a great Easter everyone!

struggling this week - planned to be really good, but sucumbed to a creme egg - really not worth the 9.5 syns. Going to see One Direction on Sunday and have booked Pizza Hut for me and DD - she wanted Piza Express but was fully booked. At least at the Hut you get free salad, so will get a piza between us - she likes just cheese, and fill up on salad and diet coke!

Have been pretty good today, we went to yo sushi for tea which is fairly SW friendly and the food is great. Had just had fruit, yogurt and vegetable soup up til then so not too much damage done. Resisted the scones with jam and clotted cream at local garden place.

Can I recommend Heston's Earl Grey and Lemon gin - I got given a bottle and have been enjoying it with diet tonic which I think is a better option than all the wine I usually drink!

The rest of the weekend may go to pot though. Going to some friends for tea and I am making chocolate pudding for dessert wink, I have also promised DS I would bake some buns with him.

I feel well and truly stuffed! Just had a big roast dinner followed by Easter muffin thingy. Haven't had a huge amount of chocolate today but did share a bit of DS's egg (I didn't get any eggs which I think is a good thing?)

Hello wishful welcome on board! Can't give you any EBF tips but veggies are good on this plan.

bean - that's great!

Everybody: don't worry about Easter eggs and general pig outs. Occasionally they happen and sometimes you just swerve around them, especially if they're just one day. I think our bodies just say "nooooo".

So. I have been pretty virtuous. Friday : light breakfast (can't remember), rice, salad and tikka chicken for lunch, steak and chips and salad for supper and a couple of glasses of wine

Saturday : porridge and fruit, fruit salad for lunch and Kung pao chicken from the Asia book for supper and about a gazillion glasses of wine (so partly good, and partly not)

Sunday: salmon and Philly omelette from the last magazine, it was vile I'm afraid, Thai fish cakes, then lemon chicken from the Asia book, very nice. A small taste of DS's Easter egg ( or one of them) - no more than 1 syn.

Today: fruit and yoghurt , then a cheese sandwich using my hea and HEb, then I'm having pasta and salad with smoked salmon and yoghurt sauce. And some wine

Best bit though is the exercise: in the last three days I have done a one and a half hour walk over high hill country, swam for 45 mins , and done ordinary walking for just over an hour.

Fingers crossed for WI tomorrow night. Sorry for long post!

Hello, can i join you? Really need some people to do this with as i have 6.5 stone to lose sad I tried really hard at the 5.2 diet and it was awful and i was grumpy! I just keep putting on - i literally must be the only person who has put on 19 lbs since having a baby ( he is only 17 weeks old!)

Anyway enough moaning - i will be doing slimming world as i literally cannot bear to be hungry, will follow the extra easy plan and hope to goodness it works smile

I will read back a few pages to get some ideas as im not going to go to class for a few weeks - i have a pretty good idea about extra easy ( one third superfree right?) and today i am going to have no breakfast i know you are supposed to but i have never eaten it and it makes me feel a bit sicky if i eat too early. Lunch * low fat cheese slice, olives, ham, egg, small wholemeal roll, salad* Dinner * bombay potato (made with the schwartz packet mix) chicken curry (4.5 syns for the sauce) free chickpea dahl from asda, rice and salad* - does that sound like rather a lot? It probably is but my apetitie is out of control atm sad hence putting on nearly a stone and a half in 4 months.

Ok well i hope to be with you lovely ladies for the long-haul - looking forward to reading about your successes (and slip ups wink) ill read back on this thread now.

Welcome Rosie! That doesn't sound like a lot, sounds fine but try to have a breakfast, even if it's just a banana at about 9.30. It'll stop the hunger and the cravings mid morning. The schwartz packet may have some syns in as well so check that out.
You'll definitely lose on EE as long as you stick to it, remember to allow yourself a few syns and a third superfree on each plate.

Yes i already checked out the syns in the schwartz - its 4.5 per pack and ill only use half a pack - i am allowing another 4 for my curry ( i use bibijis fresh curry sauce) but thats only 6.5 for a meal and im such a massive curry buff i like them to taste authentic - i think thats been half of my downfall - too many really fatty currys and takeaways!

I will probably eat a mugshot midafternoon anyway as lunch will be early ( 12 ish) and ill be hungry by 3 again - thats probably where i make up my breakfast. I was going to try and stick to 10 syns but if im honest will probably go up to 15 - do you all use your syns every day or can you save them up at all?

Rosie I tend to use about 5 syns a day during the week and 10-15 per day at the weekends, you can save them up. If you're desperate for an indian takeaway rogan josh is about 6.5 syns and boiled rice is free. Also there is a slimming world curry cook book with lots of free or low syn recipes. The chicken tikka massala is amazing!

Thanks for the heads up kiss smile and the nice welcoime from everyone else. I tried a couple of their curry recipes and found them a bit bland - i like mine really hot, madras strength usually. The trouble with a real curry takeaway is the amount of Ghee they cook them in, i cant find a single curry dish that doesnt look like its swimming in oil.

Right off for my healthy lunch - have to confess im quite hungry now!

Hello all. badroly. I did such a long post last night ours crossed. Never mind, upwards and onwards.

Sooooo, I had my weigh In tonight and lost 1lb. And amazingly got slimmer of the week! This is what comes of not being bothered by chocolate. I have 38lbs to go, and am 24.5 down.

Well... I lost 0.8lbs this week, I don't know how, possibly all the tears of shame I shed while stuffing the Easter egg down my throat. Needless to say I'm really pleased it wasn't a gain!

I need some positive thinking this next week, the last few days have been awful. My dad visited yesterday and brought cream cakes shock and I had half, and I felt so guilty afterwards....I don't know why I sabotage myself all the time. Anyhoo today is a new day, and where I am the sun is shining again, so a walk to the park to meet chums is on the cards smile

Well done to Tiger and KissMyGrits In my humble opinion a loss or a sts on Easter week is definitely worth celebrating gringringrin

Just had fruit and yogurt for breakfast, jacket and cottage cheese planned for lunch and have put something that I hope will resemble a veggie chilli in the slow cooker for later!

And I dusted off the treadmill this morning and managed to run 20mins this morning so feeling quite proud of myself. It was very slow but felt ok whether I'll be able to walk tomorrow is another thing altogether.

The sun is shining here too, enjoy your walk 3girls1madboy and don't feel guilty about the cream cakes.

Hi everyone!

Just joining this thread. Today is my first day back on SW. I lost about a stone and a half last summer, then I fell pregnant and sadly miscarried. Then I just ate whatever I wanted for months. So i'm back on it. Currently weigh 14 stone 5 and ideally I want to weigh 11 stones. My first target is 13 stones and then i'll see what happens next.

It's so hard, I've got a lovely Easter egg I've not started yet and a cupboard full of treats. Trying to stay strong.

Also, at work we get free drinks, crisps, and chocolate, so it'll be a challenge

I've had a good day today. Stuck to plan, and used my Syns for a small piece of garlic bread, a few sweets from DD1's pot she got from Thorpe park and 1tblspn of lighter than light mayo. Now I'm off to my favourite activity...Zumba grin I love it!!!

Hi everyone and well done on your losses. I think I've finally got my head around the EE plan at last and lost another 2lbs in my second week, so feeling good about that. Just about managed to get through the Easter weekend - my kids are older now so not so many choccy things around the house! Having a couple of nights away from home in hotel where my DH is on business - enjoying SW cooked breakfasts which I'd probably never do at home.
I've found myself doing a silly thing I saw in the previous SW magazine - setting 2 glass jars out, with shells in them. I put 14 in one jar (although I am unlikely to lose a stone) and am transferring them over to the other jar, one shell per pound lost - so now 10 in one jar, 4 in the other. Have even tied pretty ribbons round them (am I sad?). But they are on my kitchen window ledge and so very much in the line of sight when preparing food and drink! Have drawn the line though at putting "motivational" labels on them - my family would lay into me!
Hell, I'll be making my own quilts next....

Welcome to Huff and Frying - I'm sorry to hear of your losses.

Managed a 20min run again this morning - I promised myself this year that I wouldn't do the whole January 'go crazy on a diet and fitness campaign and then give up after 3 weeks' and that I would try to sort out my eating habits first. Three months in I do think I need to introduce some regular exercise as I have a job that involves spending most of the day sitting on my rather large backside grin

B - Yogurt and fruit
L - Jacket with veggie chilli (did it in the slow cooker yesterday - really good)
D - Pasta and tomato/veg/tuna sauce

Tonight's tea - ginger & soy salmon stir fry. Was supposed to be with noodles but we'd run out so we had rice instead. V tasty & only 1/2 a syn.

I'm now 1 stone 8 down in 8 weeks which I'm really pleased with but I've hit my brick wall were I start thinking ill be better off doing ww so I can eat more bread.

My main problem is lunches I'm at home but its driving me mad that I'm having to cook every lunch time and struggle with the super free.

I shop for me dh and dd and we eat fruit and veg but theirs only so much my budget will allow I struggle with fruit as I only like strawberries nectarines grapes peaches which aren't cheap to keep restocking.

So what do you all eat at lunch were your not doing a full meal.

I use my B option for breakfast so no quick sandwiches which is what I'm missing

Any help appreciated

Struggling this week as kids off and out and about and snacks and lunch out is taking its toll. The cold wather is not helping either as i dont want salad!

Do you like jacket potatoes as that's my standard lunch with either beans, cottage cheese, extra light philadelphia (heA)? Also those pasta/sauces that you make up with water that are free? Mugshots?

Make a SW crustless quiche and have it sliced over a few days?

I'm also getting better at cooking a bit extra in the evening so that I can just microwave it for lunch - pasta, chilli etc. all work well.

Ryvita are also fairly low in syns and good with cottage cheese or those laughing cow triangles (especially the blue cheese ones)

I can't wait for some better weather so that I can have a lot mre salad at lunchtime with tuna, prawns, cottage cheese etc. I just don't feel like eating salad in this weather.

Ok here goes, I tend to use mince and chicken for a lot of the meals, as you can see, but I find it makes for happy dh and dcs, who haven't complained yet about what they're being fed, and dh has lost 2st since Jan!!!

F- chicken and veg stir fry for me and dh. Pizza for kids
S- SW chicken tikka masala
S- Greek Style Lamb (from the mag, looks scummy) Will do sweet pot mash and roast spuds
M- Tomato and Corgette pasta (firm favourite in the 3girls house)
T- Meatballs (another mag recipe with pork mince)
W- Spag Bol
T- Homemade burgers

Since doing sw, I've not used a shop bought sauce for anything, and everything tastes so much better smile

I love it when the new mag comes out, new ideas for dinners and puds. The new one has lots of lovely looking deserts!!!

Hello everyone. Well done for the losses and don't panic Captain Mainwaring about the gains.

Has anyone's SW consultant suggested "success express". It seems to be a new variant of SW. Basically 1/3 of your plate free, 2/3 super free for each meal but you are allowed 2 heas and hebs, and the usual 5 - 15 syns. The complicated bit is that the free food has to be free on either red or green days <<brain melts>>.

Anyway, I have done it for 2 days, will go back to EE for the weekend, then do it on Monday as I WI on Tues. will report back. Am doing plenty of walking and swimming just in case not to burn off wine

I made the mistake of mentioning to my mother that I was following SW and she now tries to subtly ask how it's going everytime I call her which is driving me bonkers. I know she means well but I almost wish she'd just come straight out and ask how much I weigh instead of dropping hints.

Moan over, pretty good day today although I do have wine.

B - banana and yogurt, Alpen light bar
L - enormous jacket potato with cottage cheese and salad
D - seafood paella

S - fruit, a bit of leftover pasta (free!) and wine blush

Hi bean. No I don't understand the red and green days either, but basically it's lots of fruit and veg and small portions of meat, egg, spuds etc. so for example today:

B: lots of super free fruit, a muller light and a banana. Plus two alpen light bars (HEb).

L: chicken and some potatoes for 1/3 of my plate, salad of various types for the rest, fruit salad for pudding. The salad included enough Stilton to be an hea.

D: veg soup with a few mushy peas stirred in(sounds vile, tastes great)

Snacks. Bits of fruit (good). Lots of wine. Bad.

I have actually missed out an Hea and a HEb today. But I sort of think that the wine will cancel that out....

I also bought myself a cheap ab trainer from Argos today. Doing Zumba is trimming my bums and legs, but the ole belly is still wobbly. Going to need to thousands of sit-ups to get rid of 4 babies worth of stretching wink
