Hi,
Do you have to have meat at every meal on extra easy? I read on an old thread someone had been told they weren't technically doing an extra easy day because they'd had no meat with their lunch, so then had to syn the meat they had with their tea... can someone clarify this for me, I'm confused!
TIA x

No clue what you read...but I don't eat meat at all, so no, you do not have to have meat with every meal

I'm not sure either as I'm vegan and follow SW! On SP days, you need speed veg and fruit plus protein...maybe that is where thrives came from but even then it doesn't get synned so long as it is a p food.

I don't eat meat with every meal. I do aim to have some sort of protein like beans or something similar.

Not sure why they needed to syn meat unless it had skin or fat on it or a sauce with syns.

OP, no, you don't have to eat meat at every meal on Extra Easy: just make sure that you have at least a third of your plate as speed food.
Even if you are doing SP, you don't have to have meat: your plate should then be at least a half speed, and your protein could be meat if you wished, but could be eggs, fish, cottage cheese, beans, etc.

Previously slimming world had red and green days. I don't know much about these but I believe that red days involved lots of meat. It could be that the thread you looked at was old so under the red/green system, or it was a member who prefers to still use that system. However slimming world stopped using red and green days about 3 years ago I think.

Red days were all the meat fish eggs speed veg & fruit. You picked your carbs in a 2 x be choice - potatoes pasta bread etc.
Green was all pasta rice etc free and pick your protein, bread cereal from being back list X2 choices.
You got 2 a choices for milk & cheese.

Notreallyhappy · 24/01/2017 13:15

I prefered this as I found I had more control on carbs.

dannyglick · 24/01/2017 13:19

Notreallyhappy, if you preferred red days and found that you controlled carbs better, SP may suit you.

harderandharder2breathe · 24/01/2017 21:42

No you don't need meat at every meal. And it would only be synned if it wasn't far removed or was more than 5% fat mince

Notreallyhappy · 25/01/2017 07:17

Notreallyhappy · 25/01/2017 07:18
