I'm persevering with scan bran and trying to make cakes with it, variation on Xmas cake is ok, better next day, when really hungry!

Froubylou, I haven't tried the banana bread, don't think I'll bother. I like the oat cookies recipe, but use grape nuts instead of oats.
Lots of trial and error but fun getting creative in the kitchen.

New thread!

Frouby, sorry to hear about your girl. 💐

Feel like I've had hardly anything to eat today, but not hungry. No doubt will feel different tomorrow.

Geepee I try to have 2 scan bran a day as half my HEb and it does seem to be helping me. I can't say it is always easy to enjoy them though. I have just sat and chewed through today's 2 with cheese triangle on top and tomato. Not my best way, but the most convenient when I really can't be arsed to do anything else with them. I do like them sandwiched between yogurt and fruit and left overnight for breakfast. Quite filling so it satisfies me til lunch time.

I popped into work today and was sat at my colleagues desk. He is supposed to be losing weight due to health issues, but his bottom drawer at his desk is crammed full of chocolate and crisps. I did succumb to a sneaky chocolate, then looked at the syn value and instantly regretted it. I told him last week that I was doing SW (I am being very selective with who I tell, but I thought he might like to come along with me) the next day he bought me a chocolate orange!! Hmm I am beginning to wonder if he is trying to sabotage my loss as he is not doing so well himself and I know his wife gives him hell about it

So tomorrow I have a very early start to get DH to the boat and wave him off for a month. He is driving me mad right now with the trying to pack. I am ignoring - I think he could be wanting me to do it for him, but I am ignoring his subtle hints!! When they become massive boulder sized hints I might step in! Grin

Can someone tell me what is scan bran please? I'm 2 weeks in and haven't come across it yet.

Hi guys, hope weekend have been good. E ended up with Indian takeaway on Saturday night rather than Chinese. I had chicken tikka Rogan Josh with boiled rice, so I think that was probably ok. Someone had brought those sharing bags of chocs, wispa bites and choc orange but I managed to resist! So much easier to resist when not drinking!

Tea tonight is steak and slimming world chips, yum yum. Hoping I'm still on track for my half stone award on Tuesday.

Lavender Scan Bran is a wheatbran thing that Slimming World sells (and Holland and Barrett, although recently there was an issue with suppliers to them) They look a bit like Ryvita and taste like carpet tiles, but they are very very high fibre and good to aid weight loss. A lot of Scan bran recipes can have wheatbran substituted with the same effect but without the faffing around to blitz the carpet tiles to a powder!

Hi all, going to try and engage a bit more this thread. Lost another 2 1/2lb this week so 9 1/2 in 3 weeks.

Going for dinner here on wed - any advice best thing to have?

I've been wondering what scan bran was too. Are they better SW wise than Ryvita? I love Ryvita.

Oh god I'm back again! I've decided that I'm going to stop focusing on the 1stone that I'd like to lose and concentrate on the 3 stones that DH needs to lose.

If I'm honest I'm trying to lose mine purely l for vanity reasons but I worry about DH getting to 'that age' and carrying the amount of excess weight around his middle that he currently does. So does anyone mind if I continue to contribute to the thread in that vein? Or will it piss anyone off?

We've been away for the weekend and didn't really shop for the last 2 weeks (on purpose) and so the cupboards are bare and so we have no excuses that we are using stuff up. So starting again food-wise.

That menu looks lovely Ickle. Not sure what you can have, I'd have the lot! Maybe a fish based dish?

Been awake since 3am today, no idea why. Think it's the excitement of buying our house. So much to think about.

B: banana oat muffins (4 syns), nectarine, orange
D: ham subway salad, 1.5 syns for the sweet onion dressing

We got a new HEXB page at the weekend. The amount of oats, puffed wheat etc has gone up to 40g serving. I've just had 40g of the Sainsbury's puffed wheat. I thought I'd never get to the end of the bowl!

B - puffed wheat (HEXB) & milk from HEXA allowance, coffee
L - punnet of berries, mixed meats, tea
T - ham hock casserole (in the slow cooker now), diet coke drink
S - banana, blueberries & fat free yoghurt, 'sleepy' tea
Syns - caramel freddo (4.5), Nude popcorn (2.5)
Lots of water during the day.

List 2.5lb this week giving me my half stone. But worried though as I had a very upset stomach last week and although I lived on toast and biscuits I'm worried I won't lose now the world isn't escaping from me a couple of times a day.

But hey ho even more motivated to stick to plan 100% this week.

Hello, all, and well done on losses.
I was pleased to lose two pounds this week, helped, I think by doing the "scan bran challenge" set by my Consultant last week (two a day).
Had a quick lunch after group of salad with the frozen Bisto Macaroni Cheese featured in the current magazine: it's two and a half syns and it was lovely- only £1 in Asda, too.
