Anyone else do the banana pancakes. Found them on Pinterest... Had them with mixed berries and Greek yoghurt ( ff natch) they were delicious.

2 eggs and 1 banana whizzed together, cook as normal breakfast pancakes. ( using fry light )

So light, really lovely

Ooh these sound lovely. I was just about to job two mushy bananas (would have made banana bread pre SW) so definitely going to give them a try.

Cooked or blended fruit isn't free...

7 syns for the banana we learned at group this week!

I think a lot of people use common sense on that point though - I certainly would!

Oh bugger, they were so nice too. Bit late to worry about it now.

Does anyone actually syn a banana in a smoothie or pancake? I miss smoothies since starting SW. I like having one with banana, spinach, mango or whatever. I don't use milk, just water or coconut water. Can it really be worse than if I chewed it??

My view on fruit is that if it's an amount that I would eat normally (I have an apple, a pear, and 3 satsumas after my lunch at work every day, and if I was having a fruit and yoghurt breakfast I would easily eat a big bowl of berries plus a banana, apple etc) then I don't syn it. If it's more than that, then I do.

Calories don't fly around waiting for food to land on, so there's the exact same amount in a banana whether you eat it straight from the peel, slice it, mash it or thank you 2 Chubby Cubs chew it a bit and spit it back out but it is far easier to DRINK excess calories than it is to eat them.

But I am (and always have been) a fruit monster (Dad was a greengrocer, so fruit was free growing up...as long as it was bruised!) and could easily eat what some people say they have in a day in one sitting and go for more. When 5 a day was new, I counted my portions...on a random weekday I had 14 portions of fruit and veg.

See it's not just about what you'd eat at that point, it's partly synned because it's not as filling once you've done stuff to it and you're more likely to be having something else that you wouldn't do if the fruit was raw and whole.

On the pancake front, I just came across a recipe for magic pancakes, It basically consisted of overnight oats (made with flavoured mullerlight) 3 eggs mixed in the following morning, some sweetner and into the pan with Fry light.

Is this a tweak or would it be ok/syn free if you halved the mix and had speed fruit, oats as (hex b) etc? They look yum, but I dont really understand this whole 'tweaking' malarkey!

Healthy extras aren't a tweak because they're a pre measured amount and you can't have more of them than you normally would iyswim.
