Just back from a week in New York on hols. Was totally off plan.

Have gained at least 5lbs and probably closer to 7. Need some serious damage limitation between now and Wednesday's weigh in.

I did enjoy every syn Grin

Giving myself 2 weeks to lose this lot and then have another 7-14lbs to go. Have two family weddings to go to this summer which will keep me motivated!

I ate two small brownies today (nigella domestic goddess ones) and I have just worked out, from the syns in the ingredients, roughly what it equates to. And it was c 31 syns Shock

Better make a concerted effort between now and WI on Thursday, eek!

(Also must stop baking for myself the family)

Place marking. birdingwidow if you don't have any syns tomorrow it's like you had 15 today and 16 tomorrow so it evens out. I'm learning that I have to go cold turkey on treats. If I buy a pack of Freddos I can't just stick to one, I'll eat the whole pack so I'd rather just not have anything in. These days I get excited about raisins in my fruit and fibre Grin

This is my first week here and I'm finding the 'weight loss planner' confusing. It's fine if I'm entering single items: 1 Apple, 1 x HexB etc, but how do I enter a portion of a meal? Last night I roasted loads of free and super free veg. I measured some cheese to have with it as my HexA but because I had to put each vegetable in separately it looks like I had about 15 portions of free and super Free! I didn't eat a whole pepper or onion, just a few slices.

Is there any way to do this?

Otherwise I am loving the plan. My last serious weight loss was five years ago on Lighter Life and the maintenance support far nonexistent. This feels much better already - an education in making swaps and choices etc.

Maintenance support was nonexistent. Btw I know an Apple isn't a HexB!

Ooh, thanks Calzone! Trouble is I do love baking... Mostly I make stuff for my toddler and try to avoid things I also love but yesterday I had landscape gardeners round working so I made a batch for them. but was not strong... !

Today and tomorrow I will just use cooking syns, no treat syns.

I had a Yorker last nigh (11 Syns) and totally worth it. Weigh in tomorrow.

Really hope for a good loss. Only 6lb to go to my first stone award!

verso my consultant said that the early food diaries that you hand in are more so that they can see that your food is made up of the right stuff iyswim as chicken, onions, peppers etc could be fajita, a pasta sauce, a curry etc. Not v helpful for me though so I keep a food diary where I write meals/snacks and then made a bigger version of the SW food diary sheets to keep track of speed, syns etc. The diary helps as I can look back for meal inspiration and see what I ate on a good/bad week and the sheets help as a daily guide so I don't accidentally have my hex b twice or go over on syns.

Birding......I am better with things that have an end to it......ie a packet of biscuits and I can eat the whole packet.....

A packet of 2 biscuits comes to an end.....

Same with the brownie......it comes to an end.

Definitely agree about things coming to an end! That's why I make up a load of 5 syn and 10 syn treat bags...I know I have those, and that's it!

Went to the pub last night with friends. Managed to stick to Diet Coke for the whole evening...so proud of myself, and didn't miss the booze at all!

Today's food diary will look something like this...

B - fruit

L - picky bits from the fridge - ham, radishes, cottage cheese, gherkins, peppers, mushrooms, probably 1 slice bread as 1/2 HexB

D - roast chicken breasts, SW roasties, leftover carrot and swede mash, cabbage, broccoli

Going for a walk shortly, my standard 3 mile route round the harbourside in Bristol, will probably pick up a skinny latte en route as my HexA. Weigh in on Tues and I'm not feeling like it's been a great week - been on plan every day bar a takeaway on Tues, but for some reason just not feeling confident!

Have just been reminded that I haven't filled in my food diary sheet this week Blush.

Katenka I was so enjoying the picture of you enjoying a late night game of cricket!

Bird I'm loving the idea of cooking syns vs treat syns. Our best friend is coming for dinner next Friday and I'm going to do beef bourginon in the slow cooker from the Hairy Biker's Meat Feasts Book. Will use chopped bacon medallions instead of lardons and seal everything using fry-light rather than oil which just leaves the wine to count and works out as 4 syns per portion, with SW roasties and lots of fresh veg.

Need to go and do a fridge/freezer inventory as have no idea what we're having for the next few days. Pay day on Wednesday so may be a certain amount of winging it!

Morning. After a crappy week I'm determined to behave myself today. I've just had a SW cooked breakfast which was bacon, egg, mushrooms, grilled tomato and beans. I'm just getting myself sorted then we're taking the kids swimming and I'll have roast chicken, potatoes and veg for tea. Weigh in tomorrow and if I can manage to maintain after this crappy week I'll be happy.

Dh has taken the kids out. Was going to go for a run but I am knackered so having a nap.

I trained five times this week so hopefully missing today won't change the scales too much Grin
