if I have a bad day, can I still lose?

I had a few glasses of wine on eurovision night and then a cookie (big one) then a slice of cake, and then a Romana rustichella (no sauce)

Do I have a chance of losing this week?

Depends entirely on what you've had the rest of the week, how your body reacts and on things like what time of the month it is...

I'd accept you might have a gain this week, but concentrate on keeping it minimal and losing for next week.

Yes you can still lose.

It's okay to have one bad day now and again. It's when that one bad day turns into two and then three, it's a problem - you won't lose weight then.
A lot of people make the mistake of thinking 'well I've blown it now, I might as well pig out and start again next week'.
Don't fall into that trap.
Dust yourself down and get right back on that bike!
Good luck!

Thanks for your replies

I'm not off the horse as I think SW is the way forward for me, I have 'reasons' for eating like this

The cookie - we were out all day and it was literally the only thing left to eat

The cake- we then went to a relatives house and it would have been rude not to (stress time happening - crappy excuse I know)

And I didn't want a leggara pizza as I was bloody hungry, and I didn't have my normal doughballs

Having a day where you eat like that is just normal and life is like that. As long as you don't go mad every other day you will be fine. I know this week will be a bad week for me because of circumstances. Yesterday we had people over for lunch, so although I didn't go mad I did eat white bread, cheese and crisps. It was a big lunch though so I didn't have tea. Today we have my DN visiting so tonight is pizza and popcorn! But I won't eat now until then. I had a healthy SW breakfast. Tomorrow I will keep low syn. Thursday I am out with friends for lunch but if i am planning on jacket potato and beans with no butter so I can stick to it then. Then on Friday I am out with friends for lunch and wine so that isn't good either. It is just how this week has panned out as I am off work. Next week though I will keep low syn every day to try to even it out. I do plan on getting my exercise kicked up though so that will also help. It would be tempting to just think we'll this whole week is a wash out but even if I stay on track a couple of days it won't be too bad.

Just make sure you go to group and draw a line under it and move on. Especially if the scales do not shift in the direction you hope!

Then there are 3 examples you need to plan for in the future. And move on. I know I can't be bothered to cook when I'm starving and would rather snack on shit, so have batch cooked a few things.

Good luck for tonight!

I made a ton of soup, lasagne, curry, cheese and onion pie. Most of the recipes are on the site I think or in the green recipe book.

Kittens, good luck for tonight! I'm weighing in tonight too and stupidly skipped breakfast and then had ikea meatballs and chips for lunch! What an idiot! Oh well...

As to whether you can have a bad day and still lose. Yes, absolutely. In fact, you can have a bad week and lose. Maybe that's because the scales are just unpredictable and some weeks you lose more than others no matter what you do, or maybe you are just better on those 'bad' days or weeks than you thought you were. I've had a really good week before and gained a pound and a really bad one (whole week!) and lost 3lb.

Good luck!
