Joining slimming world class tonight!! words of encouragement needed :)

So after saying for the past year or so "oh it's ok, the weight will start coming off soon if I don't eat chocolate on a night" I have realised my weight will continue to go UP unless I do something drastic.

So basically I have a stone to loose and a year to loose it in (Wedding this time next year!!).

Tonight - I take the plunge and join my local class.

BTW can anyone suggest a quick shopping list to get me through the end of the week when I do my main grocery shop?

I reckon you will be able to lose a stone in a couple of months not a year!

SW staples are (for me) - rice, pasta (dry), potatoes, any veg, any fruit, lean meat or fish, baked beans, fat free Greek yogurt, tinned tomatoes for sauces, skimmed milk, wholemeal bread, weetabix.

The milk is for my healthy extra A and the weetabix/wholemeal bread are for my healthy extra B (you will find out about this tonight). All the rest are free foods.

First of all good luck for tonight, i joined tuesday so can't say how long it will take to lose a stone ive got 5 and half to lose hoping by next summer (wishfull thinking) but the food oh my!!! I am loving this diet (healthy life style) i am so full it's amazing i just had dinner i made chicken breast in maggi oh so juicy garlic for chicken i think its about 5 syns per pack and as i have a family of 4 thats under 2 syns and thats all the syns for the whole mean and the chicken was mouth watering so yummy!! I had it with roast potatoes roasted with fry light sprinkled with spring onions salt and pepper and then carrots and broccoli i am full to the brim i even have potatoes saved for later as its a free food and can eat as many as i like ...i know u didnt ask what i had for dinner just giving an example of a tasty low syn meal
My shopping list was something like this
Syn free foods

Chicken breasts
Broccoli
Potatoes
Carrots
Lettuce
Spring onions
Cherry toms
Peppers
Eggs
Mushrooms
Crab sticks
Apples
Strawberrya
Grapes
Bananas
Baked beans
Hellmans low fat salad dressing
Slimming worlds frozen meatballs (iceland)
Lean mince less then 5% fat
Passata sauce
Pasta

Healthy extras
Skimmed milk
Allinson wholemeal bread

I also got some 30% less fat chilli and red pepper humous for veg dipping for snacks i think the humous is somethink like 2 syns a quarter of a tub

Be warned though this lifestyle change can be quite windy if u get me lol good luck and let us know how it goes x

Hi all just wanted to give you my side on things hopefully I can encourage you abit to say it actually does work....I'm 13 weeks in on my slimming world plan and lost 3 stone 2 1/2 pound so far I was 18 stone 3 1/2 when started now I'm 15.1 in 13 weeks
