Slimming World

Does anyone go to Slimming World. Or do we have any SW consultants

I have a few questions.
Looking to start with my dd. She is 16 so like all 16 year olds self conscious about Her weight. To cut a long story short she doesn't wAnt to know what she weighs but just her weight loss each week. Can she ask the consultant not to tell her.
Also I/we ars quite apprehensive about walking into a crowded room. We won't be made to get up and say a speech to the group will we.
I sound crazy. I know.

Hi didn't want to leave your post unanswered. I have never been to slimming world (joining a week on Monday though) but my mum has and she says at hers they never say your weight out loud, just tell you that's weeks loss and write your new weight on a little card you get given when you join so I don't think it will be a problem.

If you go to the weight loss section there is a slimming world topic which may be a bit better for any questions?

I go to slimming world. Only you and consultant/weigh lady know your actual weight. They readout your loss e.g 'well done fluffy she list 2lv this week' never ever the weight you are. If you gain or maintain they usually say 'well done fluffy you gained 1lb but stayed at class let's look at how you can get a loss for next week' the consultants are fab and so helpful.

I don't do SW any more but used to be one of the "social team" ladies - either taking the money or weighing you.

Weights are NEVER read out loud in public, only what you've lost or if you've had a gain, that you've gained.

Your weight goes automatically onto the machine thingy and is written in the book for you to take home. The consultant will have that in front of them when they do the IMAGE therapy (chat). You don't have to say anything if you don't want to. We had one lady who really said very little for the first few weeks but then opened up once she realised we were all there for a reason (and definitely dreaded the first few weeks).

One lady didn't want to know her "numbers" so stood with her back to the scale display, and we'd just let her know the change.
