Using crib bumper

My daughter is 11 weeks old, she sleeps in her crib beside us, recently she has started moving about at night alot more, she likes to rub her head into the sheet from side to side which makes her move around. Therefore she ends up at the side of the crib and often bangs her head on it waking her up, plus her arms go through the bars and she wonders why she can't retrieve them - this also then wakes her. I wondered about using the bumper that came with the crib, but read that they shouldn't be used. Can anyone recommend/not recommend the use of a bumper. Thanks.

Hi i didnt use crib bumper and also dont think i would recommend it as little babes can suffocate with them. The other thing is your dd may then just move to different part of crib which isnt protected.

according to the sids website using bumpers has neither good or bad effects and to take them off when your lo gets up onto their hands and knees as they could use them to climb out. The link to the website is here

Thank's for all the advice, the sids website was good, I didn't know about that. I think I will try it and just make sure it is securely fixed. Thanks again .
