Sleep

When can you stop putting them on their backs?

DS likes to be patted off to sleep whilst lying on his side. I have tried settling him on his back but he is having none of it. So having patted him off to sleep on his side I then have to painstakingly turn him onto his back without waking him. At what age is it ok to just leave him on his side?

I think it is when they are able to turn from front to back ok /hold their heads up but am sure someone more alert will be along soon.

My ds was and is like that. I stopped moving him at about 6/7 months.
The SIDS risks drop at 6 months but I think as long as your ds can roll over and lift/move his head, he should be fine

Ds will turn 6months in a few days so can lift/move his head but can't yet roll over. So perhaps worth persisting for a few more weeks until he can roll then?
