When did you stop using a Grobag and what did you move on to afterwards?

DD is almost 1 and we've always used Grobags, I love them! But I always think her little cot looks so bare, and also wonder what I should do when she moves to a bed...what comes next? She wriggles about so much I can't imagine her staying under covers!

The time to stop is when she can get out of it herself.

Even after you have it inside out and done up on the inside

We stopped using the grobag when DS was just over 2, and moved to a duvet. We did this a couple of months before we took the side off his cot so that it was one thing at a time

ds is still in his grobag at 2.1years but he is still in his cot too. DD came out hers at 18 months and had a cot quilt on instead before moving to a big bed around the age of 2.

My DTs went into beds at 2.5 but spent another 6 months in their grobags - their room is the coldest in the house as it has 2 outside walls and we didn't want them to get cold in the winter kicking off unfamiliar duvets. The beds do look a bit bare, but they slept like angels in them, so I don't think it really matters! They got duvets for their 3rd birthday.

misdee, I have bought these to help keep their duvets on this winter. Have yet to try them as they only arrived yesterday, but they were recommended by a friend.

ooh, tkband, just what I'm looking for. dd could get out of her grobag aged 2, so we have put her with a cot quilt with a view to moving her into a bed and duvet in the next week or two - she's now 2.3. those clips look perfect. I did want to keep her in a grobag once in her bed but she is keen to try using the potty in the night so it would be too dangerous i think!

when ds started taking it off!!...at about 15 months.

in the winter we went on to a nasty fleecy sleepsuit getup over his jimjams...and a lightish blanket.

DD has just got a duvet (4 tog) and she loves it. She is nearly 27m. Basically she had outgrown her growbags and I did not want to spend more on new winter tog ones so we went for it!

We experimented first with a larger summer bag I borrowed from a friend and a blanket so she got used to having a cover on top then just dropped the bags and put her under the duvet. She is in a cot bed so we tucked it in at the bottom. After the first night we put her in socks for a week as she kept poking her toes out! but she is fine now after a few weeks.
The main thing was I took her shopping and she picked the covers herself, she loves it so much we have to bring it downstairs in the morning and she snuggles under it drinking her milk while she wakes up

We went straight from grobags to moving ds1 into his toddler bed under a duvet at 2 years 3 months. It was no problem at all

We kept both dd's in grobags until they were settled in beds and then went for toddler bed quilt at maybe 2 and 2 months or so. They were fine with both.
