My DS (9 months) sleeps through. If he wakes, just put the dummy back in and he's asleep again. However the last week, he has been waking up and crying. Put the dummy back in etc and he's quiet for 2 minutes then crys again and takes ages to settle. Leave the room and he cries again. Every night this week. Is he too young to be scared of the dark? Any ideas pls?

DS (16mths) goes through fazes of this, is at the moment actually

Think it tends to be a habit after awhile and have to do a few nights of CC before it is broken.

Also at 9mths they go through seperation anxeity (sp), could be that or the cold...........

Def. sounds like separation anxiety, my 9 MO DS is going through the exact same thing at the moment, I think you're just meant to keep reassuring them and then they learn that you're still around even if they can't see you. If it's really bad you could sleep in his room?

can be a bunch of things. sometimes if the temprature goes down significantly at night my dd wakes and cries (she is a super sleeper).
other things - a sudden tummy ache from gas due to a new food, drinking milk too quickly, new teeth coming in,

sometimes a change in your mood can cause this effect too. think of all the possibilities and try to account for them one by one. if he is normally a good sleeper there is no reason why he shouldn't go back to being one!
