Sleep

Every time I am at the end of my tether with ds he has a good few nights and I relax... then it starts again!! HELP!!

Ds is nearly 7 months and is not a consistently good sleeper. For the last 10days or so he's been waking up 4 or 5 times a night (he was a bit poorly to be fair but it isn't unusual anyway!).
I don't really think he needs fed in the night (but will give him the benefit of the doubt) because one night last week he had a cold and couldn't breathe through his nose so he slept/woke without any milk all night- if I pick him up he normally goes back to sleep but has now got in the habit of waiting for a feed then straight back to sleep.
I normally cosleep from about 4am but neither of us really enjoy it
Last night he went down happily at 8pm despite falling asleep in the car at 6.30 (long drive!) then woke at 1am and 5.30- bliss! I can cope with this but have no idea how to continue it!
Why wake once or twice one night then 4 or 5 another? If he doesn't need milk what do I do? AARGH
He's too young for CC and isn't keen on water in the night...
Any advice/supportive tips would be appreciated (he isn't a PFB BTW)

Oh I so sympathethize (sp?). Some babies just wake, no reason, DD still does, and she's 2.2 (Sorry!)
Teething perhaps?
Needs to fart?

Not much help...

DD did this (worse in fact as she did it EVERY night) and it only stopped when we cracked and did cc at 12 months- 1 night and she has slept 7-7 every night since .
I just wish he could self- settle; he often does as he's a thumbsucker but not all the time! I think it is wind sometimes as he grumbles until I hear it exit then he carries on grumbling till I get up.
He's always blimmin teething!
I genuinely don't mind waking to feed him if he's hungry but I'm soooo tired!
Good venting going on here, dh zones out!
