My DD goes at 6pm and wakes just before 6am - doesn't matter what we've tried she desn't stay in bed any later in the morning. So just wondered what goes on in other peoples houses!

DD is generally in bed by about 7.30pm but has been waking up at about 6am over the summer - before she used to wake at about 7ish. She finds it difficult to stay in bed (or even in her room) in the morning - she finds it difficult to come to terms with teh fact that she can't control the passing of time

DS (3.6 yrs) goes to bed 7pm-7.30pm and gets up at 7.30am. It was more like 6.30am until a bout a month ago when we bought an alarm clock for DS and told him he wasn't to get up until it went off. Didn't hold out much hope that it would work, but it did! He seems to be waking at about 7.20-ish now and then lies waiting for his clock to go off

Thanks for your replies - looks like we're very early then! Perhaps we should try persevering for longer at putting her to bed a bit later and see if it pays off in the mornings (just half hour would be lovely!). It;s hard to do though, when she's tired and happily goes off to bed at 6, and also when it hasn't helped in the mornings previously.

Goes to bed at 7.30 and up at 8am (I have to wake her) and at the weekend, sleeps till around 9, sometimes 10. (But then won't go to bed until a bit later - unless I wear her out at the park) She takes after me in the sleeping department.

We've had success with an alarm clock too, if dd wakes before it she usually will stay in bed waiting for the bunny to wake up before coming through to our room.

DD will be 3 in a couple of weeks time. She goes to sleep between about 7:30pm and 8pm. Generally wakes up around 7 to 7:30am .

DD goes to bed at 7.00 and sleeps through until about 8.00 (sometimes 8.30 )

In fact, we're thinking about putting her to bed earlier on some nights as we all need to get up at 7.00am on my work days and she's really grouchy by the end of the day if she hasn't had at least 12 - 13 hours.

6.00pm does sound quite early nic06 - do you think she would be able to stay up later without getting too grouchy?

DD1 is 4.1 bed at 7pm, up at 6am
DD2 is 2.11 bed at 6.30pm, up about 6.45 if not disturbed by DD1

Littlefish it's not too much of a problem keeping her up later at all. It just got earlier and earlier when werealised it was having no effect in the mornings and thought she would be better off getting more sleep by going up earlier IYKWIM. Perhaps over a longer period it would change. We only tried for 2 weeks before
