Is DS getting enough food in the day to not need feeding during the night?

DS is 9 months on Friday and is still waking 3/4 times during the night and I BF back to sleep. We want to try some sleep training as I go back to work next week and I can't carry on with the lack of sleep! But I just wanted opinions if DS is getting enough during the day to not need feeding in the night. He has BF at 6am, 10am, 2pm, 5pm and 7.30pm at bedtime and he is on 3 meals a day (BLW which he is very good at but not sure how much goes down but he definately does get some down). He does feed ok in the day but gets easily distracted and bobs on and off.
I will still BF him when he wakes around 10pm but want to turn the boob tap off after that and get DH to help me and offer water and then do PU/PD. DS will not be at all happy and I think I just need reasurance before we try so that I don't crack and feed him. (Sorry for the long post!)

From what you say i think he's getting enough during the day and is probably waking in the night due to habit and also for comfort. I'd go for the sleep training especially with you returning to work soon.
