Sleep

9 month old won't feed or rock to sleep anymore - just screams a lot

He's always been a crap sleeper but I had resigned myself to endless boob/rocking to sleep. The last few days neither has worked. He just is awake at the end of it and then screams because he is tired and I have no idea what to do!

Is he teething?
That is the age my ds really started to suffer.

I don't know. There don't seem to be any obvious signs but then he is my first so I might be missing them.

DD2 went through this, realised she just needed to have her own space (too much stimulation going asleep) and put her down in cot, left her to whinge for a couple of minutes and woe behold, she fell asleep on her own. Now I can put her down any time of day for nap and bedtime sleep and she goes off no problem, made life 100% easier. It most certainly wasn't controlled crying, it was just reading her signs and realising that she needed to go asleep, didn't want DH or I hassling her!

I tried leaving him but he got so distressed. I left him for ten minutes. He started grumbling then went to full blown screaming and crying. I wonder if it is the weather. I hope he is better tonight because I am on my own. The last two nights it's taken dad to get him off to sleep.

Stefka - you sound just like me and my 7 month old - he has gone from every 3 hours at night to every 1.5. I am exhausted. He won't sleep - every nap is a struggle
