Sleep

Anyone else think the birds' dawn chorus wakes their dc up??

We are having other sleep issues at the moment so it might be something else, but for the last four mornings at 4.20 on the dot, when the birds are in full voice, dd2 (14mo) starts yelling at the top of her lungs. They are really loud and there are a lot of trees outside her window, so I can't do a damn thing about it, but wondered if anyone else suspected the same thing?

if the child is deeply asleep it will sleep though birds, planes, today programme.... sometimes they just do get up at 4am. it is shit but not the fault of birdies.

I wondered this too. One morning they were so bad I nearly started a thread in the "Am I being unreasonable" section titled "to shoot the * birds singing in my garden at 4.30am"

Well, nothing would wake DD at 4.20 & DS often hasn't got to bed by then - but they certainly wake me up.

The other morning I was woken at an ungodly hour by a dove attacking a magpie on my roof - (a dove fgs - I thought they were supposed to be symbols of peace!)
They spent the next twenty minutes in a running (flying?) battle between our house & the one over the road & every time they came back to mine the magpie would land on the satellite dish with a kind of shuddering twang.
Every other bird in the neighbourhood seemed to be sitting around on trees & aerials yelling 'Fight, fight, fight' and by the time they finally ceased hostilities I had stopped trying to sleep & was googling shotgun suppliers....

yes i think its one of the few times i'd like a gun license too. i think she is a light sleeper unfortunately, as other noises wake her up that i wouldnt' have expected to, but its really bloody annoying. she goes back to sleep pretty quickly but i don't

end up listening to an entire saga like rusty!

Fishie - you're right about the deep sleep but by 4am my wee one isn't in a deep sleep, it's a very light and fragile sleep and the birds are tipping him and me over the edge.

I HATE BIRDS!!!
