Hello. My 5.5month old, has suddenly for the last few days started waking at 2/3am and not going back to sleep for ages. (3.15am as we speak). Its like she wants to sleep and will drift off (co-sleeping) but will wake 1 min later screaming. I have given her teething powder about 10mins ago which seems to have settled her a bit, but not convinced it's enough to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep. Last night I gave her neorofen as well, but dont want to do that as a long term thing! If it is teething that has bothered her - why is it only at this time? She has been fine all day?

Both last night and today she has just done a poo. She never usually poos in the night and seems to have struggled with it. So was thinking she was constapated? But again, why just at this time. SHe is BF and has been still having several runny poos in the day time without problem.

Please does anybody have any advice?? I am soooo tired! I don't mind doing night feeds but it used to take 5 mins and she would be asleep again! None of this up for hours with a screaming baby!!!

Things tend to get worse at night, esp illness and teething I've found. Teether works for us and nurofen always does the trick....it will probably just be a phase - my DD did this for a few nights at this age. Could she be coming down with something? I knwo it's rubbish and I've been no help there, but just wanted to say hi. I'd give her teether, get her in bed and resign yourself to a few crappy nights - it won't be forever. These things do pass! good luck
