it seems some kind of cosmic joke that my son has woken every night for last few months but is now sleeping like..well like a baby, yet i am wide awake. know will be exhausted in the morning. is this normal? is anyone else out there at this ungodly hour? has body clock packed up?

I can understand your feelings!

DS2 (now 12) didn't sleep through the night until he was 2 and a half, and even then he started his day at around 4.00am. Yes, that is what he classed as sleeping through the night.

I'm afraid that even now I still get up at around 4.30 every morning. My body clock seems to be all over the place, and I totally blame DS2 for years of sleep deprivation!

I hope your day today isn't too hectic for you, and that you are able to get an early night tonight and catch up on some much-needed sleep.

I totally understand. I co-slept with my DD until she was 4 months old. We then gradually put her in the cot. Now she is 6 months old and sleeps 7 till 6. I however am still waking up at 12.30, 03.30 and 05.30 !!! I've put it down to habit. When pregnant I was up every 2-3 hours to pee, then when she was born every 2-3 hours to feed her. So that's about a year of broken sleep. I still feel like I slept better with her in the bed though. She now sleeps better in her own bed. Go figure.
I'm hoping that I'll get back to normal soon though. All the best with it IITEFG

thank you for support!! nice to know not only one with broken body clock - though not great for you. Stephano - that is particulary harsh - do you ever feel like waking her at 12.30, 3.30 and 5.30 just for some role reversal?
here's wishing we all get some sleep tonight!
