Sleep

Please reassure me there's life (well, sleep) after teething!

DS is 7.5 mths and a 5am waker. We've spent the last two weeks following a sleep plan and although it's been hard work, he actually slept through till 6.30am two days last week.

Got all excited, then he got a virus - and now he's teething. Has spent the last two days grizzling, woke at 5am yesterday and wouldn't go back to sleep, and woke three times last night in pain. He cut the first two teeth at five months with no trouble at all, so am shocked at the pain he's in.

Once these teeth are through, please SOMEONE reassure me he might go back to the sleeping through bit! I'm so discouraged right now.

Hello
I'm afraid that at 7 months everything went pear shaped with my DS- teething, virus etc....
we've had a couple of weeks of sleeping through since but I never know what we're going to get!
Hopefully someone will have some good advice!

My DS had no trouble with his first two teeth at about 5 months either so we were also shocked at the amount of pain and suffering the two top ones caused. His started coming through at about 8-9 months just after christmas ( he was sleeping through quite regularly at this point).

It really affected his sleeping and eating, but we just weathered it as best we could and tried to keep everything as normal as possible for him. He did start sleeping through again but this has only happened in the last few weeks. Mainly because these two teeth just took forever to come through.
Straight away after this the next two started coming through and one of those is not yet fully through, however these two have not caused him half as much pain as middle ones.
It now looks like some more bottom ones are on there way.

I would say there is definately hope, just stick in there. The poor little mites go through so much with these teeth, i have really felt for my DS all the way. I would say though that my DS's teeth seem to have taken an extra long time to come through co and his sleep has been disrupted more than any of his friends due to it.

This sounds like me again, only my DD is 26 mths and it's her back teeth that are causing havoc. We've been getting up around 5:30 every morning as as she is daddy's girl she wants him only, which makes it hard for him as he works long hours due to communiting and demanding job. Is there ANYTHING that came be done to get her to fall asleep???
