Sleep

Do you know what? Some babies just sleep BETTER than others.

I have been guilt tripped at my non-sleeping babies by MIL, smug mothers at p&t groups, even my own mother, old women who smell of cat pee, HVs, etc etc etc.

And now I have one who DOES sleep. I am sat here, rocking her in a CRIB (yes a crib, a crib) with one foot. She is sleeping on her back, not in a sling, in a crib on her BACK.

She is only 2 weeks old but this is a bloody record for the Fillyjonk household.

It is not something I am doing wrong, it is that ALL BABIES ARE DIFFERENT.

thank you

you are so true. my ds2 was and still is a much better sleeper than ds1 ever was.

Try to put down awake as much as poss, day/night distinction etc. Sure you know anyway

Hope you get good sleep this time

Amen to that.

We've just had this discussion on a thread called 'Let's dispel the myth that all babies sleep through the night'.

Having a baby who sleeps well is entirely down to luck. Nothing else. They can either do it, or they can't.

My first 2 dcs slept brilliantly, my 3rd is 14mo and is up at least once a night, usually more. I can't be a suddenly bad mother third time round, I'm just unlucky!

Well said FJ.

No 2 babies are the same IMO.

BUT the others didn't sleep AT ALL. So I don't care.

i have a theory that the fatter the babies are the better they sleep - load of tosh or vaguely helpful?!

My three have had completely different sleep routines from the word go.

But even dd2 has started to actually sleep occasionally

You're right, you're doing nothing wrong.

Congrats on babyfilly

thanks

it just gets me how crappy I felt, esp the second time-dd1 was a nightmare sleeper (looking back, I am 90% sure she had undiagnosed reflux )

Sorry to challenge your theory newgirl, My DS was 10 7 when born and is the worst sleeper ever (he's 2 years 9 months and has already woken 3 times tonight). I miss sleep.

I can highly recommend her.She is affordable, motivating and devoted.I have been sleep training my son for less than two weeks and he only wakes up twice instead of 5 times as before.kavithababysleepcoach.com/
